Who is this course for?
Choosing to study BTEC Level 3 in Business is an excellent choice for anyone who has a keen
interest in understanding the world of business. This two year course aims to prepare students
with the knowledge they would need to work in any industry, create their own business or to
further their education at university. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to
participate in a variety of different enrichment opportunities such as Young Enterprise,
entrepreneurship competitions and educational visits.

Method of Assessment : 100% Coursework
This course is a coursework assessed qualification. Throughout the year you will be set
assignments, case studies, presentations, leaflets and projects across all topic areas and
produce both individual and group work that will be graded at Pass, Merit, Distinction or
Distinction*. Grades in all your topics will lead to an overall grade for the final qualification

In studying Level 3 BTEC Business it is very important to gain as wide an experience of Business
in action as you can. The Level 3 BTEC Business team, believe that we should open students to
a wide a range of enrichment activities designed to further your appreciation of the subject.
What does this course lead to? Many students will continue their education at university studying business, marketing,
management or finance. Others continue their education through apprenticeships with local
employers. The subject combines well with other subjects within the department, Accounting and
Law, hence our students may continue in these fields to.
