BTHVN2020 _ Umbrella Brand
Standard version _ horizontal Standard version _ vertical
The campaign and most other applications always use the standard horizontal version of the logo, which always appears on a white background.
There is also a special vertical version of the logo for use in the portrait format, e.g. on flags, roll-ups or other portrait-format advertising materials.
Beethoven is world-famous and will be getting his very own registered trademark for his 250th birthday: BTHVN2020. The specially developed logo dates back to Beethoven himself, who used to sign some of his scores using his name without vowels: Bthvn.
The BTHVN2020 umbrella brand logo uses Beethoven’s face in Joseph Karl Stieler’s famous 1819 portrait of the composer as its background. The digits of the 2020 anniversary year are in yellow. The BTHVN2020 liquid logo may also be used for specific themes and filled accordingly. This manual defines how the BTHVN2020 umbrella brand may be used.

The BTHVN2020 Logo: Versions and Minimum Margins
Minimal version
If the logo height is 20 mm or less, only one of the minimal versions may be used. The minimum margin here is the height of one full letter.
The positioning of the logo should generally ensure the best possible legibility. In addition, any other logos should observe a margin around the BTHVN2020 logo equal to the height of the letters. The standard version has a minimum height of 20 mm.

Secondary ColoursEach primary colour has also been assigned a specific secondary colour, which extends the colour spectrum and can be used, for example, in the design of brochures.
Primary Colours Each letter of the BTHVN logo stands for one of the main themes of the Anniversary Year and has been assigned a primary colour. The primary colours are integral components of the corporate design and are maintained throughout the campaign. The colours are also used in all publications and other creative applications. In these cases the assignment to themes is no longer absolutely necessary; however, it is important to ensure that the primary and secondary colours are only combined as shown above. Rasterizations of up to 15% are permitted.

Ludwig van Beethoven Brief an Emilie M., 17. Juli 1812

BTHVN2020: Use by Partners and Sponsors Partners and sponsors use the BTHVN2020 logo in their own layouts, i.e. their use of materials also takes into account their own corporate designs. They may use the BTHVN2020 logo in three variations.
12
The BTHVN2020 partner logo with the Stieler motif may only be used on a white background and should not be smaller than the minimum height of 27 mm. If this is not possible, one of the variations of the logo listed below should be used. Any other logos should observe a margin around the BTHVN2020 logo equal to the height of the 2020.
Alternatively, the BTHVN2020 partner logo may be used without the Stieler motif. The two-colour versions of the umbrella brand logo are used on pictures and coloured backgrounds. The same applies in cases where the height of the logo is below 20 mm.
If the logo is used on a neutral background (white or black) or on a monochrome background, the black or white version of the logo should be used. The positioning of the logo should ensure the best possible legibility and any other logos should observe a margin around the BTHVN2020 logo equal to the height of the 2020.
