TWO NEW HULLS ON LINE AT

AMERICAN CUSTOM YACHTS

Stuart, Florida, boat builder and vessel -service provider American Custom Yachts reports that two new hulls are underway at their 63-acre facility on the Okeechobee Waterway.

Fabricated on plasma -cut steel jigs to en-sure absolute precision, both hulls are de-signed for speed and performance utilizing ACY’s traditional composite cold -molded

construction process to maximize strength and minimize weight.

ACY's new 67-footer incorporates revolu-tionary technology and an innovative de-sign unlike any other American on the wa-ter. The house and bridge are fabricated out of lightweight materials encased in molded fiberglass, giving the new ACY67 a look that is distinctively different, yet tru-ly American.

The engine and fuel tanks have been in-stalled, along with the Seakeeper gyro sta-

bilizer and bow thruster. Shaft logs are in place, and trim tab pockets have been fab-ricated. Electrical wiring is underway, and harnesses have been run to the breaker panel. 43 Hardtop Express is in a Class of Its Own!

Jarrett Bay Boatworks recently delivered custom hull # 53, a 43’ Hardtop Express headed to bring a little Carolina Flare® to the Northeast Canyons. After compiling an impressive boat ownership resume of production and custom craft up to 80’, the owner of Jarrett Bay’s newest launch “Gregarious” brought an extensive custom wish list to the company’s designers and craftsmen. Always up for a unique challenge Jarrett Bay ac-

commodated the owner’s towering height by elevating the hardtop to provide a comfortable head clearance when he is standing at the interi-or helm station. Interior arrangements were also elongated for added comfort in the cabin. With an intent focus on the business-end of this Jarrett Bay, the owner & captain’s cockpit order definitely did not fall short on any detail. Ensur-ing access to the twin 600hp Cummins QSC mo-tors and Zeus pod drives did not encroach on deck space, the 43HTX’s hydraulic cockpit decklift delivers in both form & state-of-the-art function. Making the most out of all spaces, the mezzanine not only serves as a comfort station complete with an ice maker and drink coolers, it also pro-

vides bait storage and functions as an aft helm station with pod joystick controls in a recessed compartment . Also serving double-duty is the stern fishbox that doubles as a live well. Keeping the aft deck space clear of clutter from head to toe, the electric teaser reels are flush mounted into the cabin overhang, and a low-footprint Re-lease Marine Battle Saddle perfectly complements Jarrett Bay’s finely crafted teak cockpit accents, as well as the custom metal, CNC-cut Jarrett Bay logo drain covers. Raising the cockpit floor, an Alexseal® premium yacht finish adorns one of the most accessible engine room spaces for a boat of this size. In ad-dition to the power package & pod drive sys-tem, an ISO boost unit, wa-termaker and Cummins Onan Generator are all positioned for convenient reach. Look down af-ter dusk, and you’ll find your own aquarium forming around custom underwater transom LED lights. Walk forward safely using a hidden finger rail on the cabin sides to access the custom anchor pulpit and windlass, and look back at the wide-view wrap-around windows with wipers for maximum visi-bility in unfavorable conditions. Look up to find FLIR technology, custom LED tower lights, pod joystick controls, teaser reel remote, and actuated storage drawers all conveniently accessible in the buggy top. Walking in the cabin door, you step into a dual-functioning helm and saloon space wrapped in the richness of custom book-matched cherry ve-neer and trim accents. Notably used by Cadillac as their interior accent wood for its perfect bal-ance of luxury and durability, Sapele is matched with maple on the floors with a satin finish throughout. Sapele lumber runners are also used

in the headliner to provide a luxurious accent, and to help make the cabin space feel even larg-er. Two Stidd helm chairs with a matching elec-tronics dash wrap are the foundation for the inte-rior driving station with pod joystick controls. Guests can keep the captain company in a Jarrett Bay signature bucket seat and sofa with dry stor-age underneath; or lend a hand in the well-appointed galley with hidden Sub-Zero refrigera-tor/freezer units, a hidden microwave and max-imized storage space and cabinetry. lt with canyon overnighters and extended Carib-bean cruising in mind, the Jarrett Bay 43 HTX comfortably sleeps four in a forward queen berth

stateroom and a side-by-side bunk room beneath saloon. This unique bunk room bonus space is afforded due to the small-er footprint needed for the engine room thanks to the compact pod drives. The queen bed lifts for custom rod storage, and hanging and

storage lockers are found centrally and on the outboard hull sides. Keeping things custom all the way into the head, here you will find a hand-carved, high-gloss Sa-pele sink and matching counter top, custom wall-paper and a teak trimmed, seamless glass shower entrance. Wrapping it all up in a shiny Alexseal Kingston Grey coated hull, a Josh Everett Nautical Designs hand-painted transom, and topped off with a custom buggy top, the “Gregarious” is ready to share the quality, passion and dedication of Jar-rett Bay’s custom Carolina construction with all she may encounter. VIKING YACHT ANNOUNCES VIKING YACHT ANNOUNCES NEW FLAGSHIPNEW FLAGSHIP

Debute of New 92 Convertible at Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show

Not so long ago, many experienced tourna-ment skippers and anglers felt a boat over 70 feet was on the cusp of being too large to ef-fectively compete on the tournament trail. But the Viking 74 Convertible launched in May 2004 proved differently. Fast forward to the fall 2008 when the launch of our 82 Converti-ble continued the upward trend demonstrat-ing beyond any doubt that Viking hit another grand slam with its then new flagship. Now

we approach the threshold of another amaz-ing achievement, the Viking 92 Convertible, as we continue to lead the industry with new product and unrivaled innovation. Launched in late summer 2014, the Viking 92 Converti-ble will be available in Open Bridge and En-closed Bridge configurations. This new boat has a stunning profile in either version with several motor yacht cues includ-ing dual mezzanine decks; one in the cockpit and the second on the main level after deck. The latter mezzanine offers both rear facing lounge seating, along with a second seating area and a table for al fresco dining. An out-side galley and grilling area are included for

Page 21: BUC CUP NEWS - October 2014

added convenience and ambiance. The yacht’s interior is a showpiece of ele-gance and luxury. The 24-foot beam not only opens the salon but transforms it into a ma-jestic living room with built-in furniture and plush appointments like a 55-inch flat screen television that rises on a lift out of the walnut cabinetry. An L-shape island in the galley complements the work area and all counter-tops feature custom selected granite. A walk-in pantry and a full day head are forward and characterize an excellent use of space. Near-by, a formal dining area accommodates six guests. The 92 Convertible has six staterooms, each with its own private head and shower. The full beam master suite features a king size walk around bed, a walk-in closet, a dressing table, and his and her private facilities. Crew quarters are aft with access from the cockpit. The full beam area includes a head with a

shower, a small galley area, and upper and lower berths in a private cabin. Propulsion choices include offerings by Cater-pillar and MTU. The communication, naviga-tion and entertainment electronic package will be designed and installed by Viking sister company, Atlantic Marine Electronics. The first Viking 92 Convertible will be an enclosed bridge with a custom tuna tower designed and fabricated by Palm Beach Towers, also a Viking subsidiary. Selecting our subsidiaries for standard and optional accessories allows us to deliver the 92 Convertible turnkey ready. Hull number one of this new series will premiere at the October 2014 Fort Lauder-dale International Boat Show. We encourage you to contact your Viking dealer about the 92 Convertible, and follow regular updates about this new build on www.vikingyachts.com.

REAL TIME SCORING REAL TIME SCORING WITH REEL TIME APPSWITH REEL TIME APPS

Live scoring via smart phones has become all the rage in billfish tournaments the past

couple years. The Buccaneer started offering it two years ago. It’s an amazing feature

and contestants love it! Matt and Amanda Dicembrino, the creators of Real Time Apps,

are the people who make it all possible.

R eel Time Apps is what you get when you mix one self-taught app devel-

oper with a lifetime fishing enthusiast. An innovative app that is at the forefront of salt water fishing, Reel Time Apps is the front runner in fishing tournament live scoring. With the touch of an icon, participants and tournament fans can stay up to date with tournament standings and other im-portant tournament infor-mation in real time, from anywhere. Reel Time Apps was born when owners Matthew and Amanda Dicem-brino attended a Bahamas tournament in 2007. As was the norm at the time, the “up to date” scoring was on a white board un-der the tournament tent. Matt being of a tech-nical background and mind-set said, “we have to do something about this”. The next year the tournament had live web scor-ing and the updates and improvements have rolled out every year since.

Matt developed the first Reel Time Apps app for the Pirate's Cove Sailfish Classic in Stuart,

FL in 2011. No one had seen anything like it. Now the team is rapidly add-ing tournaments and app users to the al-ready tens of thousands of users following the fishing from Virginia Beach as far south

as Puerto Rico.

Reel Time Apps has an intui-tive design that allows even the most novice of users to easily navigate the app.

App users can favorite a boat to receive push notifica-tions in real time when a boat releases a fish. Partici-pants and fans can view and send pictures from the app. If you or someone on the boat takes great (or funny) photos you may send them to the tournament director to be included in the app. Whether you are on the go or at your desk, there are 3 ways to watch the tourna-ment: iPhone, Android and Web apps.
