In total, the Buffalo City Mission is looking for 3,000 turkeys before November 18th. This year’s event attendees are encouraged to support the 1950s-1990s Decades Themed party by dressing up as their favorite char- acter, band, singer, or just from one of the eras. This fundraiser “for the people” provides much needed funding to assist in feeding and clothing our neighbors in need. The need is great this year. In 2012, Friends of Night People served more than 83,000 meals at its three locations throughout the city. Since January of this year, Friends of Night Peo- ple has served more than 70,000 meals. The need to feed the homeless and working poor increases annually. The event takes place on Saturday, October 19th from 6-10 p.m. at the Kar- pelese Manuscript Library Museum, 453 Porter Ave- nue.
