1902- Teddy bears got their name from president Teddy Roosevelt

- The first stuffed bear was sold by the shoekeeper, Morris Michtom, in Brooklyn New York.

1926- A.A. Milne began writing bedtime stories about his son Christopher Robin Milne’s stuffed animals, including his teddy bear who was renamed, Winnie-the-Pooh.
