– $1 million, 3-year project began March 1
– Will work with regional partners in Savannah, GA, and Toledo, OH
Second New NOAA-Funded Project
• Sectoral Applications Research Program under Climate
Program Office; start date slated for July 1
• APA partnered with Chicago Metropolitan Agency for
Planning (CMAP)
• Project title: Incorporating Local Climate Science to Help
Communities Plan for Climate Extremes
• $300,000, two-year project plus matching resources
• Work with five pilot communities in Chicago region to test
integration of climate data into comprehensive plans and
capital improvements programs
• Aim for replicability in other Great Lakes and Midwest
communities
