THEME
We bear much fruit when our rela-
tionship with Jesus is the focal point
of our lives.

ORDER
1. Walk in newness of life.( Rom.
6:4)
2. Consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to
God in Christ Jesus.
DIRECTION
1. Proclaim the Lord’s faithfulness to all genera-
tions.
2. Take up your cross and follow Jesus.
3. Let us welcome our brothers and sisters with
an open heart like the Shunemite woman.
REFLECTION
In the Sunday readings, we hear the Spirit call-
ing out to us to walk in the newness of life.
When we were born, we were stained by original
sin and through the Sacrament of Baptism we
received a new heart and spirit. Through faith in
Jesus, we died with Jesus, were buried with Him
and resurrected with Him. Having died with
Christ, we are called to be dead to sin as well.
And through Jesus, to whom we are indebted for
the promise of the inheritance of the Kingdom of
God, we are called to walk in the newness of life. This new life now gives us a desire for what is
righteous. We seek to “worship the Father in
spirit and in truth.” (Jn.4:23). We seek to shine in
the “fruits of the Holy Spirit -- love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness , generosity, faithfulness, gen-
tleness and self control” ( Gal.5:22-23). We seek
to humble ourselves in service to the Lord God.
We seek to do all what is good and pure as ...P2

...a child of God. This great gift of new creation
within us is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
With His presence within us, we now have the
power to renounce mortal sin and the power to
say “no” to all sins. Through the gift of new
life, we found the spiritual meaning of living
our faith in Christ. We have learned that we must love God first,
with our whole heart, mind and soul (Mt.22:37)
for He is the provider of all things. “This is the
greatest and first commandment.” (Mt.22:38).
We must love God more than anyone else,
even more than our parents, our spouse, our
children and our wealth in this world. If we
love God less, we are not worthy of Him. If
such love makes others jealous, then that is the
cross we must bear. It is better to suffer a little
bit now than to lose the love of God and the
gift of eternal life that awaits us and all those
who persevere. The second commandment is
that we must love our neighbour as ourselves.
(Mt.22:39). There are no greater command-
ments than these two. Based on the spiritual
laws, the good acts of love that we perform
towards others will be credited to our account
in Heaven.
In today’s First Reading, we heard of the
goodness and kindness of a wealthy woman,
who gave Elisha a place to stay. In return, the
Lord promised her a son. By welcoming a
prophet, she received a reward worthy of a
prophet’s reward. By the measure that we
manifest love and kindness towards others,
that same measure shall be applied towards us
when we appear before the Lord on Judgement
Day. Our reward shall be according to our
works. If we are persecuted because of our
goodness, “Rejoice and be glad, for our reward
is great in Heaven, for the same way they per-
secuted the prophets who were before
us.” (Mt.5:12). Let us have faith for without faith, it is impos-
sible to please God. Whoever approaches Him
must believe for those who seek Him are re-
warded. (Heb.11:6). Our goal in life should be
to gather the works we perform while walking
the newness of life in Christ, for we do not
know the day when the Lord will call us. We
have to run the race to win (1 Cor.9:24). We
must lay aside the weight of sin that clings to
us so closely, so we may run with perseverance
the race that is set before us , looking to Jesus
the pioneer and perfector of our
faith.” (Heb.12:1-2). The Scripture is clear that we are saved by Je-
sus alone. He rejoices when we give our time,
our treasure and our talents in service to His
people. Our acts of generosity moves his heart
and He responds by pouring out his grace. May God bless us! ( Source: Catholic Doors Ministry)

ME CLASS #4 OSG/BLD SFX DIP – June 10 & 11, 2017 The Marriage Encounter # 4 Weekend was truly a weekend of victory for the Lord. The 23
couples were immensely touched by their experiences during the ME #4 weekend. Most
couples were saying that they have never experienced this joy and closeness to one another.

W hat a magnificent and inspiring experience! It was the Holy Spirit who has
empowered most of the members of the OSG BLD Guelph in inviting candi-
dates , and with persistent prayers, nine couples responded to the call of our Lord . We thank
the Lord for these nine couples who attended the ME #1 weekend held at the Resurrection
Centre in Waterloo on June 16-18. As their Shepherds, we know that the Lord’s plan for the BLD
- OSG Guelph is to grow and prosper as a community of faith. This is just the beginning!
WE thank the Pastoral Team of Fr. Terry Fay, Jun and Bing Yulo and Willie and Viv Saguil, who
delivered messages of love, forgiveness, and healing through their inspirational teachings and
powerful sharings. The unity in spirit and humble services of the sponsoring class, headed by
Rey and Mary Ann Repaso, made this weekend possible and allowed God’s healing graces to
flow freely among these couples. We were also touched by the selfless services of our two cou-
ples, Ron and Mara Aquino and Francis and Olive Aligao, who brought their young kids and
took turns in caring for them and serving the Lord at the same time. Awesome and inspiring!
The success of the weekend was also made possible through the support of our brothers and
sisters from Toronto: MFLA coordinators Manny and Letty Buado, who provided all the mate-
rials we needed, the Management Stewards Bert and Cecile Cruz, the Secretariat coordinators,
Ling and Bing Brinas, and the Service Ministry coordinators Danny and Remy Argoso. Special
thanks to Freddie Carandang who had to cut short his appointment just to meet us at OLA for
the St Joseph Prayer Group banner. Special thanks also to Jules and Zorie Locquiao who helped
us in the intercessory all throughout the weekend, the BLD Kitchener group led by Romy & Lo-
lit Atienza, Lito & Mila Navaleza, Frank & Cecile Pendon and Mark Larioza and the couples
from ME 37 & 38 — the Buencamino, Caluags, Celestial, De Castro, Lacanilao-Sacdalan. A big
thank you to all! Most of all, we offer our praise and thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed
Mother Mary, for making this Marriage Encounter Weekend possible and victorious. The lives
of these nine couples will never be the same.

Time and again, God’s amazing grace worked
wonderfully. We praise and thank the Lord for
a victorious LSS #35 weekend! The power of
the Holy Spirit rained down from heaven as 28
lovely individuals surrendered their lives to
Jesus, our Great Shepherd. “Something un-
speakably beautiful happened to me”, said
one candidate when asked about her Baptism
experience. Evidently, our Lord manifested
His Divine presence during the LSS weekend.
The insightful talks of Fr. Armand Galay
provided a more concrete understanding of
faith and God’s immense and unconditional
love. Through the inspiring testimonies of
Jules/Zorie Loquiao (God’s Love), Cora Mon-
tilla (God’s Love), Bong/Jojo Ortiz (New Life)
and Lucille Salvador (Transformation), it was
revealed to the candidates how the gift of the
Spirit fills our life and changes us so that we
begin to know and experience God’s
love and the abundant life Jesus spoke
of when He said:
“I came that they might have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in
the Lord. Live as children of light.” (Eph 5:8)

Kudos to the shep-
h e r d s a n d c o -
shepherds for tending
their sheep, and whose
caring ways have led
their lambs to the liv-
ing waters. It was truly a joy to
witness community
members from differ-
ent ministries working
and serving together
in God’s vineyard to
bring people into a
deeper personal rela-
tionship with the
Lord. Smiling faces
and loving ways were visible everywhere. The out-
standing service provided by the Service, Intercessory,
Praise, Liturgy, Food, Treasury and all working teams
were exceedingly commendable. The behind-the-scenes
contributions of the Secretariat, Witness Development and
Word ministries were equally praiseworthy. The unparal-
leled support of the DCS/DSL in various forms was highly
laudable. Indeed, you are all a blessing to our community.
For all these and to everyone who offered prayers, time,
talent and treasure, we say a heartfelt THANK YOU. God
must be smiling from above as He lovingly says, “Well-
done, my beloved children.”
God bless our BLD community. To God be the Glory!
Congratulations, Graduates!

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR #35
Nearly 8 centuries after Saint Francis of Assisi
exhibited wounds on his body resembling
those of Christ, the phenomenon of the Stig-
mata remains. To this day, believers and non-
believers alike continue to argue their opinions
and challenge the evidences pointing to this
mystery. In his talk on God’s Love at the LSS #35 week-
end, Fr. Armand Galay gave a fresh perspec-
tive on this incredible phenomenon. He said
that as we go about our daily lives, we do not
have to look for the extraordinary occurrence
of the Stigmata because in truth, the wounds of
Jesus Christ can be seen in the people we en-
counter every day.
Indeed, as the candidates of LSS #35 listened to
the testimonies of Jules/Zorie Loquiao, Bong/
Jojo Ortiz, Cora Montilla and Lucille Salvador,
they saw the ignominious wounds of Jesus and
witnessed first hand His pain and suffering on
the cross. But more than this…more than the
stigmata associated with the profound life ex-
periences of these sharers, the candidates also
learned that suffering was not the end of our
life stories. They understood that because
Christ conquered death by His resurrection,
our own victory and resurrection will come
when we are transformed to a new life in Jesus
Christ. Word Ministry

It was in April 1992 when 32 couples bonded together to form BLD Toronto’s remarkable
ME Class#2. Fr. Larry Tan, SDB was the presiding priest on that weekend, with the Pastoral
Team composed of Rico & Telly Agcaoili and Lando & Menchu Geronimo as the presenting
couples, and Manny & Bessie Gorospe as the incoming shepherd couple. On June 4, 2017, after 25 fruitful years, ME Class #2 found themselves together
again to celebrate a joyful reunion. Reliving the wonderful memories were
Danny & Zenny Baluyot, Ernie & Sofie Buenaventura, Philip & Clarita Malolos,
Gerry &Zayda Mananquil, Roger & Cora Nava, Cris & Beth Rejano, Cita Treyes,
Sonny & Beth Udasco, and Jun & Bing Yulo. The afternoon was graced with the opening prayers of Manny & Bessie Gorospe who of-
fered the celebration to all ME#2 graduates as well as those who have passed away. The re-
union was blessed by Fr. Larry Tan who gave an inspiring talk on how to keep marriages
healthy and strong. He stressed the importance of continually nourishing our relationships
and applying the tools we learned during our ME weekend. He also touched on the impor-
tance of putting our affairs in order in preparation for that inevitable day when we are
called to meet our Creator, a topic that was timely especially for most us who are nearing
the last leg of our life journey. The inspiring session took us well into the evening as we
shared our personal and spiritual experiences through the years, and reminisced happy
memories of that ME weekend at the Scarborough Foreign Mission Centre 25 years ago.
And of course, in keeping with BLD tradition, our reunion was capped with the blessing of
a sumptuous pot luck dinner. A big thank you to Gerry and Zayda for the venue, and Cris & Beth Rejano and Roger &
Cora Nava for getting in touch with class members. By: Zenny Baluyot
Happy 25th Anniversary ME#2!
Celebrating Milestones
Living Water– June 30, 2017 11
What do famous icons like Arnold Schwar-
zenegger, Elton John, David Letterman, Ka-
reem Abdul-Jabbar, Carlos Santana and
Hillary Clinton have in common? Well... they
will all celebrate the big 7-0 this year together
with our very own Service Ministry DLC,
Danny Argoso. How cool is that! To be sure, this exceptional man we often
refer to as Tito or Kuya or just plain Danny
will never be as famous as those icons. But
you know what? Nobody in the Community
gives a hoot! We all know he can never equal
the musical genius of Elton John or Carlos
Santana. Or come close to the eloquence of
Hillary Clinton or David Letterman. But he
will always be the Danny we have come to
know and love...the Danny we can always
turn to when things get a little rough in our
journey through life and faith…the Danny
who has touched our hearts in so many ways
through his quintessential roles as Tito or
Kuya... or just plain Danny. And for all of us
in the community, that’s more than enough
reason to embrace him as our very own icon.
Surely, his loving wife Remy will agree!
Happy 70th birthday, Danny !!
Celebrating Milestones When Joey & Susan Linsao celebrated their 40th wedding anniver-
sary on June 17, we couldn’t help but look for some kind of signifi-
cance to 40. We found that in the Bible, the number 40 always ap-
pears in events relating to judgments, tests or trials -- from Noah’s
Ark and the great flood to the taunting of Saul’s army by Goliath...
from the Israelites’ wandering in the wilderness to the temptation of
our Lord Jesus in the desert. Of course, this does not imply that
Susan went through an agonizing ordeal of tests and trials during
her 40 years of marriage to Joey. No, no, no, no…not at all!
But it does carry a special meaning because as we witness Joey &
Susan’s enduring love for one another, we see ourselves connected with them, and we realize
that the joys and trials that marriage brings are true blessings unto themselves. So in recalling
Noah and the aftermath of the flood, our community joins this lovely couple as they celebrate
their union and live God’s promise of
rainbows and sunshine. Happy 40th Anniversary, Joey & Susan!!
