Our Mission:

To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our Values:

Radical Hospitality Going the second mile in demonstrating an active desire to invite, welcome, receive, and care for those who are strangers so that they find a spiritual home, and discover for themselves the unending richness of life in Christ.

Passionate Worship Describes those times we gather deliberately out of an intense desire to

encounter God in Christ. God uses worship to transform lives, heal

wounded souls, renew hope, shape decisions, provoke change, inspire

compassion, and bind people to one another.

Intentional Faith Development A deliberate offering of ministries that help us grow in faith outside of

weekly worship, such as bible studies, Sunday School classes, support

groups, and prayer teams. We strive to provide opportunities appropriate

for people to learn in community at all stages of faith.

Risk-taking Mission & Service Projects, efforts, and work people do to make a positive difference in the

lives of others for the purposes of Christ, whether or not they will ever

become part of the community of faith. Risk-taking pushes us out of our

comfort zone, stretching us beyond service to people we already know,

exposing us to people, situations, and needs that we would never

ordinarily encounter apart from our deliberate intention to serve Christ.

Extravagant Generosity

Providing ministries that address our spiritual need to give, as God gives,

in ways that exceed all expectations and extend to unexpected measures.

Fruitful congregations thrive because of extraordinary sharing, willing

sacrifice, and joyous giving out of love for God and neighbor.

Welcome guests.

We consider it a privilege to have you worship with us

and sincerely hope you will receive a blessing from this

service. We have guest information cups in bags at the

front of the Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall. Please fill out a

yellow visitor card on your pew or row with your

information, so you will receive newsletters and updates.

Cards may be dropped in the offering plate.

Love Offering For Horne Memorial Staff

We are blessed to have an extraordinary staff at

Horne. They work hard all year to ensure that we

are equipped to do ministry for the Kingdom in

Clayton and beyond.

The Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) invites

you to make a contribution to a Christmas Love

Offering to be shared amongst the members of the

Staff. If you would like to contribute, please make

any checks to the church and indicate

"Staff Love Offering" in the memo line.

I hope you will join me in showing our appreciation

to these fine folks by making your donation by

Wednesday, Dec 21. Donations may be dropped in

the offering plate on Sundays, or dropped in the

locked contribution box marked "Church" outside

the church office, near the mailboxes.

Thank you for helping the church show Christmas

love to this great team of servants. -Ross Carter

Congregational Survey

As the ministries of Horne

Memorial continue to grow, the

Trustees are leading a Master

Planning effort. This effort will

allow us to evaluate our future

facility needs as we continue to

expand God's work. The last major building expansion

was the educational/office addition that was completed

in the 1998 time frame. The Trustees have received

input from various committees and several ministry

groups in the Church. With their input, a list of priority

items/needs for programs and ministries has been

developed. The items are listed on the survey, and are

not in any order. We are using this information (along

with your input) to help guide the Trustees as we

continue this planning effort with the architectural firm,

Design Development. Thank you for taking time to give

your input on the future of Horne's Ministry. Go to

horneumc.net and click on the survey on home page.
