WELCOME! HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO EXPECT!
CHILDREN We have a well supervised nursery and children’s ministry that will allow your child to learn and grow. Our JAMTowne entrance is in the lobby next to the coffee bar. COMMUNION We believe that Jesus died on the cross for us as a sacrifice for our sins. Every Sunday, we pass around juice and wafer to remember the sacrifice that was made for us. We invite you to meditate on God’s love and grace during this time. OFFERING We give monetary gifts out of love for God to support the work He is doing through this church. If you are new to Towne South, we welcome you to express your gratitude, but do not feel pressured. DECISIONS At the end of the service today, an invitation will be extended to you if you need to make a decision about following Jesus for the first time, rededicating your life, want to join Towne South, or would like to pray with someone. BAPTISM Immersion in water symbolizes the death and burial of our old life without Jesus and the beginning of our new life as His follower. It is the moment when God’s grace unites with our faith providing forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit.

have again planted a “Giving Tree” across from the kitchen
door on the preschool hall. If you would like to help support
us, please pick an apple from the tree and bring back the
item printed on it to place by the tree. Thank you and God

How would you like to grow closer to the Lord? Maybe you need a boost in your
relationship with Him. If so, Discovery 201 is the seminar for you. The focus of
this class is on the habits every Christian needs to develop in order to grow spiri-
tually. These habits include such things as bible study, prayer, fellowship and
stewardship. This class equips you with the skills you need to begin these habits
and explains the tools you need to continue these habits. The next class begins
on Wednesday, February 19. You may sign up through the TS APP or at the
GROW Station in the lobby.

STUDENT MINISTRY— SUNDAY MORNING SMALL GROUPS
SMALL GROUPS FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS The goal of our
middle and high school students’ small groups is to make life better TOGETHER!
There is a group for every age! All student small groups meet on Sunday
mornings at 10 AM upstairs!
STUDENT MINISTRY—WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIG GROUP
6-12th grade students are invited to participate in TS Students mid-week
experience called Big Group. Big Group provides an uplifting experience right in
the middle of the week for middle and high school students that is centered on
their relationship with Jesus! They will have some fun, worship with our student
band and hear a practical message from God’s Word. Come for dinner ($3) at
5:15 PM. Big Group begins at 6:05 PM.
We have 42 “kids” and 10 adults attending from Towne
South. Please keep them in your prayers! Who: 6-12th

ence each winter with the purpose of equipping and en-
couraging middle and high school students. CCYC exists to

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27 NIV
Plan to join us at 6:00 PM on February 9 for our Annual Meeting. This will be a
time of fellowship, food, and reviewing highlights of 2019 as well as looking at
what lies ahead in 2020. Please bring a covered dish to share. This is for the
whole family to enjoy and, remember, it’s always short!
Brad, our Lead Minister, is in Rwanda for a
ten day missions trip . One of the missions
we support is Rwanda Challenge. The Mis-
sion of Rwanda Challenge is to equip Rwan-
dan Church leaders so that the churches in
Rwanda might flourish and so that, eventually, the churches
there might send missionaries to neighboring countries. Accord-
ing to Brad, there are men from all age groups, many walking long distances, to
attend these classes. They are hungry and thirsty for the Word of God and are
eager to take what they learn back to their home churches. Let us continue to lift
Brad and his fellow ministers, as well as all those attending, up in prayer. “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a
college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to
serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We will have an unusual service today to shine a light into the Foster Care/
Orphan efforts in our country. We want to be a church that cares for the least of
these the way Jesus did. With that being said, our services today will be a little
different than normal. At 6PM tonight, we will be showing the film Hard to
Place that tells the story of what some children go through in order for them to
be placed into the Foster Care system. This evening will be a round table eve-
ning centered around discussion of what we can do to make a difference in
young people's lives. Please note: This film is recommended for 6th grade stu-
dents and up. Some scenes can be too intense for elementary aged chil-
dren. Drinks and popcorn will be provided along with child care for ages K-5th
grades.
Your 2019 giving statements have been emailed. If you have not received an
email from Towne South with your statement, perhaps we do not have an up-to-
date email address. Please contact Jonathan at [email protected] or call the
church office, 252-338-2248,and he will give you a printed statement.
REMINDER! Towne South is sponsoring a
Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, January
30 from 1:30 – 6:30 PM in our auditorium;
and there are still appointment times avail-
able. Currently, the Red Cross has a critical
supply need! They have less than a three-day supply of Type O blood for pa-
tients in need; however, all types are needed! You can just show up during the
drive, but your wait time will be less if you make an advance appointment. Sim-
ply log on to www.redcrossblood.org and enter TSCOC in the Sponsor Code
box. You will be directed to a page with all available appointment times! If you
are unable to participate, please share this information with your friends and co-
workers. Thank you for considering GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE!
