Grade 5 ExhibitionOur passions can help make the world a better place
This week Grade 5 presented their Exhibition. The Exhibition represents a significant event in the life of any PYP school and student, synthesizing the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the whole school community. As a culminating experience it is an oppor-tunity for students to exhibit the attributes of the Learner Profile that have been developing throughout their engagement with the PYP.
Every year we keep a comment book for all those who visit to share their views on the Exhibi-tion. Below are just some of the many comments from this year. They reflect how much those who came appreciated the hard work and commitment of our knowledgeable and principled Grade 5 students:
“All of the students work was astounding! Their topics were all very interesting and they developed them to a great extent.”
“I am so inspired and happy! Thank you for sharing your thought and your learning.”
“Amazing work. So much passion. Very inspirational.”
“Amazing job done by amazing kids”

CISSA SeniorBoys Basketball
The CISSA Senior Boys Basketball squad competed in their season-ending tournament in Shanghai last weekend. Four teams represented NIS, with some great results. The boys played well together and every team won some games—with the NIS 3 team going undefeated throughout the tournament!
The boys worked hard in practice all season and their extra efforts paid off in the tournament. Our teams were evenly matched with the competition, and while we are still developing our skills, the boys showed that you can be successful by working together as a team. Special recognition goes to Nik P, Suhyeok, Youngho, and Fari who were selected by their teammates and coaches to represent their squads in the all-tournament rep game. Coaches Wojcik, Ray, James, Ryan & Van

NIS STUDENT BUS GPS MONITORING SYSTEMSince April 2014, all the school buses have been fitted with GPS monitoring system, which integrates with Baidu navigation, GPS satellite positioning and 3G communication. The installation is designed to monitor the dynamic driving position of school buses helping to control the driving route and speed of all buses through a unified information platform.Key functions: GPS satellite positioning : this service can relay information about the school bus in
real time to teachers and parents. Various map locations : improves accuracy for locating buses and effective route
finding. Speeding alarm: when the bus driver exceeds the designated speed limit an alarm is
activated, thereby enabling drivers to be monitored and enhancing overall safety. The GPS Satellite Positioning and Monitoring System for our buses will standardise
the speed and route of the buses. This will improve the safety of our students on board which remains our prime focus at all times
