Mr. McLellan staying at NIS
The most important function of the Board, next to strategic planning and financial oversight, is to select and hire the Director of the school. Laurie McLellan was hired by NIS in 2009 on a three year contract. This contract was renewed in 2012 until 2015.
On behalf of the Board of Nanjing International School I am very pleased to announce that the NIS Board and our Director Laurie McLellan have agreed on a contract extension of 5 more years until 2020.
This clearly reflects the Board’s confidence in Laurie’s vision and leadership of NIS. As a Board we look forward to our continued partnership with him in making NIS an even more exceptional inclusive learning community.

MAY 24TH, 2014
Last Saturday students from our NIS community and a few from Shanghai, between the ages of 5 and 15
competed in our 8th Kids Triathlon.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who competed either individually or in a relay.
Thank-you to all our volunteer helpers - parents and the NIS swim team members who in between
their races helped throughout the entire day as well as those that helped and then competed in the
Nanjingman Triathlon the following day. Without you guys the event would not have run so smoothly.
Thank you to Paul and his Ray of Light BBQ and the PTA’s bake sale that also added to the success of
the day. Lastly a massive thank-you to Helmut who worked tirelessly to ensure everything happened
smoothly with entries and the timing system.
