Site

• Remove portion of south fence to open Library to the Rec. & ParkPublic Plaza

• Revise entry court per Arts Commission – Phase I comment

Building

• South façade changed to allow for 400 SF expansion of program room and direct access to Public Plaza

• Roof was extended 10’ towards Public Plaza to provide sheltered terrace south of program room

• Limit The Living Roof to areas above Program Room and Children Area

• Library will meet Green Building LEED Silver

• The building site is located on Ortega Street and 39th Ave., adjacent to Rec. & Park complex playground which covers (10) city blocks.

• A unique feature of this site is its location. The current Library is sited on a level platform that is 10 feet above street level at the west end of the site. The site provides a nice view to Pacific Ocean
