Tornado

The signal for a tornado is an announcement from the office over the intercom.

Calmly move to the back of the room away from the windows.

Sit on your knees, facing the wall, with your head down and covered.

Stay completely silent during the drill.

Fire

The signal for a fire is the Fire Alarm. Calmly form a line at the door. Follow instructor out the door to the left, at

the next hall turn left,and out of the building at the end of the hall.

Form a line on the grass. Stay completely silent during the drill.

Electrical Cords

Electrical Cords should be removed from outlets by pulling the PLUG.

Do not pull the cord or the equipment.

Work Area

You should inspect your work area for the following hazards:– Flickering Lights– Frayed Wires– Burning Odors

Equipment Problems

If you are having problems with your equipment, you should inform the instructor.

Do not attempt to repair the problem yourself. Do not ignore the problem. Do not inform the principal. The instructor will

inform the principal if necessary.

Injuries

An injury should be reported to the instructor immediately.

Paper Cutter

The blade of the paper cutter should be down after each use.

Do not leave the blade in the up position because it may fall and cause an injury.

File Cabinets

Heavy loads should be placed in the bottom drawer of a file cabinet.

Do not place heavy loads in the top drawer. The file cabinet may fall over.

Only one drawer of a file cabinet should be open at a time.

Opening more than one drawer at a time may cause the file cabinet to fall over.

Lifting Heavy Loads

When lifting heavy loads you should use your legs to lift.

Do not use your back to lift the heavy load.

Chairs

Rolling in chairs from one workstation to another is NOT acceptable.

The chair should remain at your workstation at all times.

Jade cannot stand in the Chair ever!!!!!!!!!

Moving equipment from one workstation to another is NOT acceptable.

Only move equipment if the instructor tells you to do so.

It is important to know the location of the closest fire extinguisher.
