    Step 1:

Lay the bead in the center of a sheet of paper, and trace around the bead.

Remove the bead.Draw a simple line design for the top of thebutterfly

wing. Start drawing at the top of thebead, and end near the center. Keepin mindthat you need a loop in the wire above thebead to pull a chain or

cord through. Try tomake it mimic the eyes of the butterfly. Start atthe

bottom of the bead, and draw a simplecurved line down and then up, to

end near thecenter of the bead. The two halves shouldtouch each other

at some point. Fill in with awidened line where you want the wire to

behammered flat.Trace this design, and flip over to repeat on

theopposite side. Make any adjustments necessary.Bewarethat too

much free floating wire couldaffect the wearability of the pendant.

To make the jig, place the finished drawing on a wooden board, and tape

or glue down. Hammer the finishing nails into the board at all

major turning points of the design. It is only necessary to do this for one

side of the butterfly. Clip the heads of the nails off with a heavy-duty

    wire cutter.

    Step 2:

Cut two 17" pieces of 14g wire. The length mayvary depending on the

final design. Check tomake sure they both fit in the bead together. If not,

file the bead hole opening larger until both wires fit through the

bead.Begin forging the wire by hammering a teardropshape on the end

of the wire. File the endsmooth.

    Step 3:

Hold the teardrop in place with round nosepliers, and bend the wire into

a C shape withthe teardrop sitting flat in the C.

    Step 4:

Place the C shape over the pattern, and bendthewire around the nails for

    several turns.Butterfly Pendant

    Step 5:

Place the wire back on the jig, and bend thewire around the nails until

you reach the loopsabove the bead. Make a loop around the nail.

    Step 6:

Hammer the remaining curves of the top of thewing.Step 7:

Repeat Steps 3-6 for the second piece of 14gwire. When forming loops

for the butterfly eyes, make sure you loop them in opposite directionsto

keep the design symmetrical. Straighten outthe remaining wire on each

piece. Use flat nosepliers if necessary to straighten out the wire.Line up

the two pieces next to each other, withthe wings flared out, and pull

both wiresthrough top of the bead.Place thebead andwireon

theboard, and startbending the wire around the nails fromthebottom up. Remove thewirefrom thenails.

    Step 8:

Hammer the first curve of the lower portion of thewing.

This is an interesting wired jewelry project. It shows you pictorial step by step to twist the wires and

come up with the wonderful wired bracelet.

I offer the tutorial in PDF that provide clearer intruction on the respective picture. If you are

interested to buy the eBook at USD3, contact me at diyjewelryclub at gmail dot com.

To make this bangle, you only need simple materials as follow:

    Materials

    3 pieces of 48cm / 19 inch thick copper wires sized 1mm/ 18 ga.

Thin copper wires sized 0.4mm/ 26 ga.

5 round beads measuring 1.5cm in diameter.

    Tools Needed

    Round nose pliers

    Flat nose pliersWire Cutter

Step 1:Cut out 3 pieces of wires approximately 48cm/ 19 inch long.

    Step 2

Bend each wire to oval shape at the middle of the wire.

The bracelet is about 2.2cm wide. For the outer wire, you will need to leave the spacing between the

top and bottom to be 2.2cm wide.

    11/22

    Step 3

For the middle and inner wires, the spacing between the top and bottom wires is approximately

    1.8cm and 1.5cm respectively.

Place the 3 wires side by side as shown in the picture.

We shall name the wires from 1 to 6 as shown in the picture. Throughout the tutorial, I will indicae

the number of the wires as per sequence in this picture for easy reference.

    Step 4

Bend the inner wires upward at approximately 4cm (1.5inch) from the left side of the outer wires.

Cut approximately 6cm (2.5inch) of thin wires (26ga). At the area where the inner wires is bend, wrap

the thick wires with the thin wire.
