SWACHH RANKINGS 2019: JAL SHAKTHI ABHIYAAN

Augmenting the success story of unique 3 awards in Swachh National Rankings,

SKCET is happy to receive yet another laurel in a row, 'Certificate of

Appreciation for Jal Shakthi Abhiyan‟ from AICTE. This recognition is bestowed

for the impactful awareness initiatives - Jal Diwas, Plantation drive, Rally and

Restoration of Vellalore water bodies undertaken by SKCET team with theme focus

on 'Every drop of water has to be saved'. Implementation of AICTE campaigns to

the fullest fruition with social responsibility and meticulous reporting on online

portals has earned this colossal accolade at the National forefront.

Winning spree of our Student Hackers is on the rise at SKCET with yet another achievement.

The following two teams from department of CSE and MCT have showcased their agility and

coding skills in the recent Mega Hackathon event-IFA Hackathon'19 at Ascendas IT Park,

Chennai on December 7th and 8th 2019. The HoDs, students and mentors of CSE and MCT

were warmly commended on their remarkable feat by our respected Principal Madam.

GLIMPSES OF STUDENTS ACHEIVEMENT





S&H- PRAYATNA WELLNESS CAMP

A free Wellness Camp for the faculty members was organized by Prayatna –

Humanity Outreach of SHA in association with Thulasi Pharmacy, RS. Puram

and Lotus Eye Care Hospital. The camp was inaugurated by our beloved Principal

Madam, Dr.J.Janet and was successfully organized under the guidance of

Dr.V.Ragavi, HOD, S&H and President of Prayatna cell. Free physical

examination along with Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Ear, Eye, BMI, Diet

Counseling were provided by Thulasi Pharmacy members. The main objective of

the camp was to create awareness on the importance of health, diet and weight

control.

BLOCK CHAIN TECHNOLOGY COURSE

The day 1 training of Block Chain Technology, an elective course was conducted

for the II and III year Circuit branch students by Mr. Vijay, CTO, Emurgo and his

team.

MECH- COURSE ON VISUAL WELDING INSPECTOR LEVEL 1

A three days training program on Certificate Scheme of Welding in Personal (CSWIP

3.0) titled Visual Welding Inspector Level 1 was organised by SKCET in association

with SEASEP. The session was handled by Mr.J.Johnson, TWI India Pvt Ltd, Chennai.

Around 30 industrial persons participated in this program.

ABOUT TWI: The Welding Institute (TWI) India is a global leader in joining technology

which provides Integrity management, Research, Consultancy, Training and Certification

services in Welding Technology. TWI and Lloyds Register Foundation(LRF) a leading

UK based charity which supports global activities have launched a South East Asia

Skill Enhancement Programme (SEASEP) to enhance the skill set of the individuals

and to provide financial assistance of 100% scholarship (Rs.65,000 worth) to Indian

citizens who aspire to pursue a career in Welding, NDT and Occupational Health and

Safety.

MCT - SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT

K. Rankeshkar, Final year MCT student has won Bronze in Inter Zonal Athletic

Meet, Anna University and has been selected for All India University Meet. He has

covered 800 meters in 1min 52 seconds. Our Principal Madam Dr. J. Janet

felicitated and wished him success for his upcoming event.





MECH- NATIONAL FOUNDRY QUIZ WINNERS

National Foundry Quiz was organised by The Institute of Indian Foundrymen -

Coimbatore Chapter at IIF Seminar Hall, Coimbatore. Second year students from the

Department of Mechanical Engineering participated in the competition and have won the

following Prizes:
