Blue Whale Nature Association (BWNA) is active in fields pertaining to Nature, Environment, Mountaineering and Astronomy science. Since 2002 we are consecutively organising Nature and adventure summer camps. The association is for those who believe that they can make a difference. BWNA is a platform which gives the opportunity to the students to enhance their knowledge and skills that will assist them in developing their personality. It also helps in developing a sense of perpetual friendships amongst each other bringing them together and creating a healthy atmosphere. This helps the student for Personal Growth, building Self confidence, Leadership skills, and Teamwork. We try to achieve this by regularly conducting Treks and Camps for students at various locations.

We always visit remote mountain ranges and are bound to discover lesser known hills. We feel proud to introduce Shirota Lake View & Forest through our summer camp. The area is still unexplored and unknown to many.Shirota Lake View & Forest: The area is surrounded by Kondeshwar, Dhak fort, Manjarsumbha and Rajmachi fort. We can see brilliant view of mountains and valleys and hairpin turns through forest. The area is ideally situated and approachable from Lonavala or Kamshet. A huge expanse of back water of the lake represents an interesting ecosystem. The Forest is unique in terms of good mixture of evergreen and deciduous trees. A good place to see forest birds like paradise, flycatcher, Pigeon, hornbill, storks, eagles, ducks and other waterfowls. (If you are having binoculars bring it at your own risk)Participants will also learn the basics of trekking, rappelling and jumaring. This unique combination fosters an appreciation for the environment, develops self-esteem, instils a spirit of adventure, and promotes teamwork, and friendship, through memorable wilderness experiences.

Gathering point:For Mumbai/Thane Participants:

On 15th May: - Participants will have to gather near Cidco (NMMT) bus stop, Thane (West) at 2.00 PM. We have made arrangements for travelling by private bus. Bus will leave at 2.15 pm.Bus Route:Thane, Kalwa Naka, Vitawa naka, Airoli, Rabale, Turbhe naka, Juinagar, Nerul, Kharghar, Kamothe, Khandala, Lonavala, base village.We can pick you up from any point on the given route.  

For Pune/Lonavala: At 5.00 pm, Ticket Window near Platform No. 1, Lonavala Railway Station on 15th May. We will pick you up from Lonavala station.

Camp concludes on 19th May At Thane NMMT Cidco bus stop, Thane (West) at 7.30 pm (For Mumbai/Thane participants) And Lonavala station at 5.30 pm (For Pune/Lonavala participants)

Bedding (One light Chaddar + Bed Sheet OR sleeping bag) Medicines (If necessary for personal use) Some ready snacks or biscuits and electrol

Please pack all the given items in a plastic bag to protect it from getting wet, in case it rains.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: -   1. Don’t even think or assume that it is a LUXURY trip, please be ready to rough yourself.2. Please avoid wearing gold and other valuable ornaments.3. Do not bring earphones. 4. Kindly carry Identity proof for the camp.5. Participants are requested to carry a plastic bag to dump their own non biodegradable waste back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins.6. Keep minimum cash in hand. The Camp venue is in Jungle so nothing can be purchased here.7. BWNA encourages participants to express themselves through songs, dance, skits, Mimicry, jokes etc. We provide ample opportunities for it at the camp fire. We believe that this helps the participants to overcome the fear of public participation. So come prepared to give a fine performance. 8. Cancellation one day before the camp is liable for the full payment of fees.

Rules and Regulations:1. Participants are requested to follow all ethics of Camping such as

co-operation with fellow trekkers, obedience of instructions, caring for the environment etc.

2. Addiction in any form of Alcohol, Drugs and Smoking etc is strictly prohibited, if found guilty of carrying such materials, the participant will be asked to leave the place immediately.

3. Please remember not to leave any plastic bags or any other non-biodegradable material behind; they spoil the beauty of nature. The perishable items may be buried and brought to good use.

4. Please don’t bring any valuable items or gold ornaments like rings, chains etc. Please note that our organization is not responsible for the loss or damage to person or property.

5. Any change in Time-Table/Schedule will be informed accordingly to all the participants by the leader; his decision will be final and binding.

6. Any type of music players should not be used in the camp, rather one should listen to the music of nature, and mobile phones should be used as a means of communication, preferably only in case of emergency.
