Here are some facts of the Wave Mechanical Model of the atom:

•Founded by Erwin Schrodinger in 1926

•The model followed Bohr’s model where atom were shown and had a definite path.

•Schrodinger’s model showed a cloud of electrons but no definite path

•Model showed that the actual atom has no exact shape

•The chances of finding an electron around the outside of the atom are very slim whereas the closer to the nucleus you get, the greater your chances of finding one.

•The model showed that you can’t actually see an electron

•Also known as Quantum Mechanical Model

•Like most other models experiments were conducted to explain the models, Schrodinger’s was more a mathematical model that can be explained from the mind.

The basic idea of wave mechanics is that we cannot measure boththe position and velocity of a body as small as an electron at the same time.
