Government of India realized in the year 2008 that there is huge

deficiency of skilled manpower in India and 500 million skilled workforce will be

required by 2022. We realized this fact 2 decades ago and took initiatives in

opening up various industrial training institutes (ITIs) & skill Development Centres

with the sole objective of creating a workforce empowered with improved skill

and knowledge. We undertook to provide learning and skill development by

providing opportunity to the most weaker section and needy youths of the

country, to make them self reliant.

In 2011, JK Centre for Technician Training was founded with the ambition

to reach out to the unskilled youth of the region and open the door of knowledge

for them. The Institute has been able, since then to empower many students with

the tools to succeed in their chosen vocation and to forge a brilliant future for

themselves. The Institute has served not only the youth, but the region's

community as well. I hope it will continue to remain a symbol of a better

tomorrow for everyone.

• 1992 : Established JK Institute of Technology within the premises of JK Cement Works, Nimbahera.

• 2003 : Established JK Industrial Training Centre at Kamla Nagar, Kanpur, the head office of JK Cement

Ltd.

• 2010 : Established JK Centre for Technician Training, a skill Development centre at Kamla Nagar,

Kanpur.

• 2012 : Established an approved Training Institute of Indian Institute of Welding (Authorized National

Body of International welding Association) at Dada Nagar, Industrial area of Kanpur (U.P.)

• 2013 : Adopted 2 government ITIs at Keshoraipatan and Sheoganj under PPP mode for improvement

in infrastructure and skill development programme.

• 2014 : Established JKCTT private ITI at Dada Nagar Kanpur for imparting NCVT certified training.

The JK Centre for Technician Training came into operation on 24th January 2011 with two Trades Electrician &

Mechanical Fitter at Kamla Nagar, Kanpur and in March 2012, Industrial Welder was added as third trade at 2nd centre

Dada Nagar, Kanpur and in May 2013, to promote self employment Mobile Technician was started. In 2014 Dada Nagar

Centre was extended to a Pvt. ITI for imparting NCVT Affiliated Training.

The Institute was set up with the aim to develop World Class Technicians in vocational skills, through short term &

intensive hands on Training. In this competitive world, what set the Institute apart is the dedicated, passionate and

selfless Faculty & staff. They do not confine themselves to delivering Mark Sheets and certificates but ensure that each

student continues to grow even after he steps out of the training centre. With deep understanding that the reality of the

shop floor and the classrooms are different, the staff and the faculty keep in touch with the Employers to check the

student's performance.



UPSDM (Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission) :

UPSDM: Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has undertaken

to implement UP Skill Development Programme in mission mode with a target

of training 23 lakhs candidates in the age group of 14-35 years over the next

three years (FY2014-15, FY2015-16 and FY2016-17) in short-term modular

courses. Under this programme, JK Centre for Technician Training, Kanpur has

been working as Private Training Partner (PTP) for imparting the Training to

the unemployed youth of the state in Electrical, Fabrication, Electronics, Retail

& Security Sectors & further placing them into the Industry.

NSDC- PMKVY

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a unique initiative by the Government

of India that aims to offer 24 lakh Indian youth meaningful, industry relevant,

skill based training. Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial

reward and a government certification on successful completion of training

and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.

India (IIW-India) headquartered at Kolkata for imparting different types of certification courses in welding. The Indian

Institute of Welding (IIW-India) is a professional body devoted to the cause of promotion and advancement of welding

science and technology in India. Established in the year 1966, with its registered office at Kolkata, it has 13(Thirteen)

MOU for Advanced Training & Placements

• JK Centre for Technician Training has signed an MOU with IIT Kanpur for

the skill up gradation of it's trainees. With this MOU, The trainees of the

Centre undergo an advanced workshop training of 3-4 days at the central

workshop of IIT Kanpur by the faculty of IIT Kanpur. Further, after

completion they are awarded with a certificate. Initially the MOU was

signed for Fitter Trades only, later on it was extended to electrical trade

also.

It is a golden opportunity for the local youths to get training at IIT Kanpur

& this is a first of it's kind MOU with Institute like IIT & a skill development

Institute.

My name is Satyajeet Singh Gautam S/O Raj Kumar Singh & I belong to Naubasta, Galla Mandi, Kanpur. I came to know about Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission through a telephonic call that I received from JK Centre for Technician Training Kanpur. I took admission there for getting training in Fitter-fabrication course which lasted for almost 3 months of intensive, hands on skill training.

In the Institute, the training was more focused on the practical part. Apart from the core skill training, I was also taught on the soft & behavior skill, basic computer skill & Interview skill. I also got opportunity to get advance workshop training at IIT Kanpur in the central workshop by the faculty of IIT kanpur & also have received certificate.

During the course of the training we also attended the technical guest lecturers organized by the Institute & made various small projects which boosted our self confidence level.

After completion of the training, I got chance for an interview organized by the Institute in Resinova chemicals Kanpur & selected for the post of Assistant Mechanical Maintenance at the Rania unit of the company. My current CTC in the company is Rs 11,000 pm & working since 31st October 2015.

I am very happy & would like to thank my Institute JK Centre for Technician Training, UPSDM (Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission) for making change in my life & finally honorable Chief Minister of the State for such an initiative like UPSDM for the unemployed youth of the state.
