September 9th and 10th, 2017 Bishop David Kagan has approved the United States Catho-lic Conference of Bishop’s (USCCB) special, emergency Hurri-cane Harvey collection for the weekend of September 9th and 10th in all parishes of the Diocese of Bismarck. The funds collected for this one-time special, emergency collection for Hurricane Harvey Relief will be used to support the efforts of Catholic Charities USA, the official domestic relief agency of the U.S. Catholic Church, as they and their member agencies respond to immediate emergency needs for necessities such as water, food, shelter, and medical care as well as to the long term needs to rebuild and recover after widespread destruc-tion, and of the USCCB for pastoral and reconstruction aid to the Church.

The 2017 High School Youth Rally will be held on Thursday, October 19, from 1:00-10:00 pm at the University of Mary. The right person for the job must be able to work with staff, leading and encouraging them toward excellence. SPAGHETTI SUPPER/BOOK FAIR SAINT JOSEPH SCHOOL, MANDAN

St. Joseph School, Mandan, will hold its 14th Annual Back-to-School Night Spaghetti Supper on Thurs., Sept. 28. Serving will be held in the school cafeteria from 5:00--7:00 pm. A meal of spaghetti and meat sauce, lettuce salad, garlic toast, milk or coffee, and dessert will be served. Price is $6 for adults, $4 for children 4-11 and 3 and under are free. Advance tickets are available at St. Joseph School or Parish. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Profits go to the St. Joseph School PTO.

The schools’ Annual Book Fair will also be held that day for the public from 4:30 to 8:00 pm at the school. Come eat and shop! Books make wonderful birthday and Christmas gifts.
