Welcome to the 2014-2015 Community Assistant Online Training Module! This online module is comprised of four lessons. Each lesson covers an important aspect of the CA role and the duties assigned. Each lesson reflects the topics covered in the CA orientation meeting and signed job duties contract reviewed and returned at the end of last semester.
This module includes four lessons covering:

• In Case of an Emergency
• Recording Time & Managing Pay
The goal of this lesson is to establish standards of excellence through exceptional customer service.
By the end of Lesson 1, you should be able to:

Assessment:The learner will simulate completing and
submitting a Work Order online form.
Viewable (and downloadable) instructions will be provided in a pop-up panel that can remain open as the learner follows the steps to accurately fill out and submit the mock Work Order online form. As correct actions are performed, positive reinforcement is given and the learner is allowed to continue until the form has been submitted. If an incorrect action has been made, the learner will be redirected to successfully complete and submit the form.

Lesson 3: In Case of an Emergency
A list of emergency contact procedures will be provided.
A video explanation as to why the contact procedures are critical will be shown. Illustrated example cases of both, properly and improperly handled situations will be shown to learners.
The video will contain scenarios that are common for CAs to deal with.

The learner will select a “easy”, “medium”, or “hard” scenario. In a timed challenge, the learner will chose the appropriate response to the emergency situation.
The different gaming levels will be range from an “easy” emergency situation to a more challenging emergency situation to “vary demands and resources to optimize challenge”.
