GREETINGS

DAVE DANEVice President & General Manager, Western PAAtlantic BroadbandChairman, Cable AcademyOn behalf of the officers and staff of the Pennsylvania Cable & Telecommunications Foundation and Broadband Cable Association of Pennsylvania, I’m pleased to wel-come you to the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey and our 22nd Annual Cable Academy!

In planning this outstanding conference, we strive each year to assemble a roster of presenters that bring timely, critical information on issues that are, and will continue to be, front burner challenges for Pennsylvania’s broadband cable industry. This year our

program boasts an outstanding lineup that certainly does that and more.

We’re proud to present to you a true, bursting-at-the-seams agenda as we bring together, for the first time, leading MSO executives from the Commonwealth and beyond, who will give details on how our companies can continue to thrive in a telecommunications landscape that never ceases to evolve. We’ll dive into social networking, and its role in how we serve customers; expanding video platforms and where the ceiling is; and even climate change...the climate of the broadband cable industry in Pennsylvania with competitive and technological forces affecting us like never before. You’ll find the details and messages to blend into some guaranteed strategies for success. Programmers can take advantage of a speed dating-type forum to interact with buyers from five cable opera-tors. And we have the presidents of both the leading research organization on telecom trends, and our industry’s preeminent society of technicians and engineers.

Please schedule as much time as possible for our exhibit floor, to network and reacquaint. And use this great op-portunity to immerse yourself in today’s most timely, critical and cutting-edge issues facing broadband cable. The program will lead you.

Again, welcome to Cable Academy!

DAN TUNNELLPresident, BCAP In planning the program for this outstanding event each spring, we always do our best to keep pace with this ever-changing industry through an agenda that is relevant, timely and on top of today’s hottest consumer trends.

I’m very pleased to present this year’s agenda in the pages that follow. As you’ll see, it’s a program unlike any we’ve done before.

Our Keynote Speaker will paint the broadband cable landscape based on his real-world analysis that the industry trades are always quoting. We’ll then hear three execu-tives from leading operators offering a response from their respective vantage points.

Seven programming buyers from Pennsylvania MSOs will host some valuable “speed networking”. We’ll learn how the nation’s largest cable company harnesses social networking opportunities to communicate effectively with customers. There’s a lively Q&A with MSO and ISP execs from the Commonwealth. We have more than two dozen industry exhibitors. We’ll be raffling off the industry’s newest management manual on customer service. Casino Night is back with our best prizes yet! And, our many friends from the Society of Cable & Telecommunications Engi-neers’ annual Pennsylvania Tri-Meet will again join in our discussions and activities.

To learn the most from the best in our great industry, you’re definitely at the right place. Thank you for coming… see you at the sessions!
