I. GENERAL CONDITIONS

A. PERMITS: THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL

OBTAIN AND APPLY FOR ALL , LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REQUIRED BY LAW,

BOTH PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY, AND MAINTAIN COPIES OF ALL PERMITS

ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES.

B. CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL PLANS:

1. THE OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE ANY DESIRED CHANGE IN PLANS

AND SPECIFICATIONS WHILE UNDER CONTRACT. HOWEVER, THE CHANGES

MADE, MAY ADJUST THE PRICE (ADDED OR DEDUCTED) TO THE ORIGINAL

CONTRACT PRICE. THE ADJUSTED PRICE SHALL BE AGREED UPON BETWEEN

THE OWNER AND THE CONTRACTOR AND ENDORSED UPON ORIGINAL

CONTRACT. WHEN BOTH PARTIES AGREE THERETO, IT SHALL IN NO WAY

INVALIDATE OR MAKE VOID THE ORIGINAL TERMS.

2. THE OWNER, WITHOUT INVALIDATING THE CONTRACT, MAY REQUEST EXTRA

C. BROOM CLEAN, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE STAINS, SPOTS, MARKS, AND

DIRT FROM COMPLETED WORK. WASH CONCRETE FLOORS, CLEAN AND WAX

ALL RESILIENT FLOORS, CLEAN ALL GLASS. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY

WITH ALL SPECIAL CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR

MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.

D. DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE INTENDED TO BE COMPLIMENTARY.

SPECIFIC INFORMATION MAY BE FOUND IN EITHER OR BOTH.

E. WHEN A CONTRACTOR IS ALLOWED A SUBSTITUTION, HE/SHE WILL COVER

THE ENTIRE EXPENSE OF THE SUBSTITUTION, INCLUDING WORK AND EXPENSES

8. All HVAC flues and vents shall be constructed in accordance with the International Fuel Gas code of 2015.

9. Fire dampers - shall be type "B", UL labeled, with damper blades fully clear of the air stream, seal with Dow Corning RTV silicone foam. Provide access door at all fire dampers.

10. Provide sheet metal fire stops tight around ducts passing through fire separations and ceilings. Run to kitchen WC or dryer exhaust ducts inside party or corridor rated walls.

11. Mount condensate and refrigerant lines as high as possible.

GENERAL MECHANICAL NOTES

1. Contractor is responsible for all permits, licenses, fees, and charges as required by authority having jurisdiction for the performance of the work as outlined in these contract documents.

2. The contractor shall be responsible for installing a complete and functional system in accordance to the intent of the plans and written specifications.

3. All plumbing shall be in accordance with the local regulations and the International Plumbing Code of 2015.

4. Contractor to coordinate work with other disciplines.5. Drawing is diagrammatic and is not to be scaled. Refer to

architectural plans or field measurements for dimensions.6. Contractor shall verify all existing construction prior to

submitting his bid. No extras will be paid due to unanticipated existing conditions.

7. Coordinate all roof and wall penetrations required with the general contractor. Provide all flashings, sleeves, curbs, reinforcing angles, supporting frames, etc. which is required unless called out to be furnished by others.

8. Contractor to provide submittal to Engineer for review prior to acquiring equipment as soon as possible after contract award. Equals will require review from engineer and owner for quality and performance against items specified. All control devices shall be included with submittals. Equipment and fixture substitutions that are not listed on these contract documents shall not be allowed without the prior written approval of the owner.

9. Extra charges - any discrepancies and omissions discovered shall be reported to the engineer immediately and prior to tender closing for rectification by addendum.

10. The proper performance of the control system is the responsibility of the contractor.

11. Shop drawings - submit 1 copy in pdf format to the engineer for approval. Provide 2 printed copies of reviewed shop drawings to owner in 2 O&M manuals within 90 days of acceptance. The contractor shall ensure that equals for the major equipment fit in the allocated space and meet codes and specifications.

12. Upon completion contractor shall prepare pdf printouts for review by engineer.

13. Maintenance manuals - contractor shall provide 2 copies complete with shop drawings. Three ringer binder style is acceptable. Provide on-site operating seminar to familiarize owner with all functions of new equipment. Submit maintenance manuals within 90 days of project acceptance.

14. As-built drawings - mechanical contractor shall keep on site an extra set of drawings and specifications on which changes shall be noted daily. As-built drawings shall also be provided showing location of access doors, clean-outs, and any deviation from design drawings. Submit as-built drawings within 90 days of project acceptance.

15. Warranty - mechanical contractor shall provide written warranty on his system for one full year from time of acceptance by the owner.

16. Structural - misc. Steel support hangers for unit heaters, fans, heat pumps, etc. Shall be by the mechanical with clamps to structure, not welded. Structural reinforcing for equipment is by general contractor.

17. Electrical coordination - motor disconnect switches and starters (including magnetic starters for interlocking) shall be by electrical contractor unless otherwise specified. Disconnects for packaged makeup air units shall be by electrical contractor. Electrical contractor shall wire in low voltage and line voltage thermostats, electric heaters and control transformers provided by mechanical contractor. Mechanical contractor shall complete low voltage controls wiring. Confirm voltages on site before ordering equipment.

18. Duct dimensions on plans are finished inside dimensions.19. Sleeving - mechanical contractor shall be on site to sleeve

mechanical openings through concrete, to flash and counter flash and to coordinate joist locations away from mechanical shafts.

20. Design documents - these design documents are prepared solely for the use by the party with whom the design professional has entered into a contract and there are no representations of any kind made by the design professional to any party with whom the design professional has not entered into a contract.

DUCT INSULATION NOTE

1. Insulate all supply and return duct with R-6 duct insulation. Insulation must have metal jacket. All components used (insulation, jackets, mastics, adhesives, and tapes) must havge flame-spread index of 25 or less, and smoke-developed index of 50 or less when tested in accordance with ASTM E 84 or 723 (be plenum rated).

7 INSTALL NEW HOUSE KEEPING PAD FOR MAU-1.

AHU SPECIFICATION

TYPE AND DESCRIPTIONThe heat recovery unit shall be designed to ensure a minimum heat recovery efficiency of 52%. The heat exchanger and blower shall be constructed so they can easily be disassembled and reassembled in the field if necessary. The unit shall be equipped to operate from a single point power connection. The heat recovery unit shall be factory tested before shipment and the manufacturer shall keep a detailed report on file. Heat exchanger shall have a energy efficiency of 45% class H5. Complete test report shall be provided with operation and maintenance manual upon shipping of unit. The heat recovery unit shall be shipped completely factory assembled and wired including all electrical components and fuses, ready for immediate power and glycol connections. The unit is to be shipped in sections, to allow easy reassembly in the field. The unit must be constructed as to fit through the existing 71 in wide x 82 in high doorway to the pool utility room. Finished unit height shall not exceed 81 inches in height.CASINGThe unit exterior casing shall be heavy 18- gauge A60 zinc rich satin coat steel with a solid 22- gauge satin coat steel liner. Unit roof shall be feature standing seam construction. The entire unit casing shall be insulated with 2-in. thick 2.0 lb. density fiberglass insulation in a sandwich wall fashion. Casings are to include standing seam with interlocking panels and tek screwed construction. Casings and support for upper deck of heat recovery unit shall be supported with tubular steel where necessary. The unit interior shall be thoroughly cleaned with a solvent and then prepped for finish coating. The interior of the unit shall be coated with two applications of Heresite Air Dried Phenolic series VR-514 paint with a minimum thickness of 2 to 4 mils, to provide excellent resistance to corrosive fume and marine environments. The paint shall be capable of passing a salt spray ASTM B-117 2,000 hour test. The unit exterior shall be also be finished with one coat of Heresite Air Dried Phenolic paint. An integral welded iron channel frame minimum 4 in. thick shall support the unit casing. Formed sheet metal bases are unacceptable. The structural iron frame shall be sprayed with a high build epoxy primer prior to a finish coat of Hereiste. Doors are to be 24 in wide and feature full-length stainless steel piano hinge. The doors are to include bubble gasket to properly seal off air leakage. The doors are to be equipped with tool locking and roller cam pressure latches. All heat recovery unit components will be accessible through the access doors.BLOWER/MOTOR SECTIONThe fan section and motor assembly shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the Air Moving and Conditioning Association (AMCA). The assembly shall be designed to house the fan(s) and motors. The fan(s) and motor shall be mounted on a welded unitary base made of angle iron frame. The blower section shall have a hinged access door to allow easy maintenance of blower and motors. The NEMA T-Frame TEFC motors shall directly mount to the plenum fans. Both supply and exhaust blower sections shall feature dual opposing non-overloading direct drive backward inclined airfoil blowers. V-belts and bearings in the airstream are not acceptable. The blower shall be an efficient, non-overloading backward inclined type rated in conformance with AMCA standard 205, 211 & 311. The wheels shall feature extruded aluminum blades fully welded without paint. Steel blades are not acceptable. The fans shall feature twelve blades for better sound quality. Inlets shall be fully streamlined and housings shall be suitably braced to prevent vibration or pulsation. Wheels shall be statically and dynamically balanced to grade G6.3 per ANSI/AMCA 204 or better. Each blower unitary base shall have rubber in shear vibration isolation. The blower inlet is to be isolated from the casing frame with flexible duct connector.Fan performance shall be based on tests conducted in accordance with AMCA Standard Test Code for Air moving Devices. All fans shall have sharply rising pressure characteristic extending throughout the operating range and continuing to rise well beyond the efficiency peak to assure quiet and stable operation under all conditions. Horsepower characteristics shall be truly non-overloading and shall reach a peak in the normal selection area. Fan manufacturer shall provide sound power ratings in the eight octave bands, which shall be based on AMCA Standard 300-67, test, and setup number 1. Sound power ratings shall be referenced 10-12 watts. Sound pressure rating shall not exceed 82 dBA @ 3 Ft from unit. A factory dynamic balance shall be made on all fans after their assembly. An IRD or PMC analyzer shall be used to measure velocity, and the final reading shall not exceed 0.1 inches per second. The exact level of vibration shall be recorded on the fan as proof of the final dynamic balance at the factory.CROSS FLOW PLATE-TO-PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERThe cross flow plate to plate heat exchanger shall be properly sealed to unit cabinet and supported by integral frame. The plates are to be aluminum construction with epoxy coating. Minimum efficiency of the plate heat exchanger is to be 52%. Maximum airside pressure drop across heat exchanger is not to exceed 0.75 in w.c. Transferred power is to exceed 550,000 BTU/h. The plates are to be sealed without the use of silicone. Heat exchanger internal leakage is to be a maximum of 0.1% of the nominal airflow at design static. Nominal plate distance is to be 0.413 inches. Access doors shall allow full access to heat recovery cell to facilitate cleaning. The heat recover cell section will have a 304 stainless steel fully welded and sloped drain pan to facilitate condensate removal. The heat recovery cell will have modulating face and bypass extruded aluminum dampers controlled by the unit PLC to prevent freezing during operation. MIXBOX & FILTER SECTIONA mix box with fresh air and return air dampers shall be provided. The dampers are to be AMCA certified aluminum airfoil low leak type with seals. The dampers are to be inset into 22 gauge steel mix box liners. The dampers shall be equipped with direct-coupled modulation actuators. Dampers are to meet the requirements of IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 by leaking less than 3 cfm / sq. ft @ 1” static pressure. Damper operation is to allow a full range of return air and outside air from zero to 100% in response to the PLC control. Filters are to be accessible through hinged access doors. The filters are to be sized for 500 fpm or less. The filter racks shall allow for easy removal and installation of 2 in. thick MERV 8 pleated filters.GLYCOL HEATING COILThe glycol-heating coil will be aluminum fin and copper tube construction. The coil is to be treated with Heresite paint to provide protection against the chlorine vapors. The 30% glycol-heating coil will have a face velocity not exceeding 800 fpm. The capacity of the heating coil will not be less than 1,450 MBH. Aluminum fins are to be a minimum of 0.0075 in. thick and copper tubes at least 0.02 in. thick. Coil is to be a minimum of 3 rows deep. The coil is to have 3 in MPT connectors. Performance shall be based on 4700 ft. elevation.ELECTRICAL CONTROL EQUIPMENTElectrical assembly and components shall be in strict accordance with the latest provisions and requirements of the Nation Electric Code. A dead front safety disconnect switch shall be mounted on the control enclosure door. Electrical cabinets shall be integral to the unit cabinet. The following items shall be located within the electrical enclosure: fuses, starters, control relays, VFD, PLC and timing and holding relays, resistors and numbered terminal strips. All components shall be labeled and cross-referenced to control and field wiring diagrams. The control circuit shall be 110V, single phase. Wiring shall be neatly run in “PANDUIT” wiring duct. All wiring that is internal to the unit shall be run in liquid-tight cable. Unit shall be equipped with automatic low limit freeze protection with bypass timer. A discharge temperature sensor shall be wired in series-parallel to a room sensor. The VFD is to be parallel wired to control both the exhaust fans simultaneously. The PLC will monitor both temperature and humidity of the pool room. Unit mounted PLC shall provide complete stand alone control of the pool room temperature and humidity. The PLC shall be BACnet capable, and control all actuators, vary VFD and send 0-10Vdc signal to the hot water valve provided by others. REMOTE CONTROL PANELProvide NEMA 12 locking control panel c/w controls for dampers and VFD motors on fans. Provide BACNET MSTP protocol interface to Johnson Controls BMS allowing for interface with AHU and Boilers. Provide controls for all dampers and motors. Provide set point controls for temperature, humidity, and air flow for pool room. Johnson Controls BMS to provide temperature, air flow, and relative humidity set-points, with ability to override damper control and heating coil valve set-points. Johnson Controls BMS to read all control parameters (supply temperature, return temperature, outdoor air temperature, outdoor air humidity, mixed air humidity, supply air humidity, space humidity, and damper positions.

• Boilers are provided with integrated controls and BACNET MSTP protocol for Building Automation Integration.• Refer to specification section 23 52 16 – Duplex Stainless Steel Firetube Condensing Boilers, article 2.4 Controls.• Boiler integrated controls to manage enable/disable of pumps P-1 and P-2.• Connect boiler controls to each other and set up for equal run type, incremental ramp up and ramp down.• Set water supply temperature to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Owner to have option for Indirect Domestic Hot Water prioritization and running the boiler

at supply temperature below 160F.• Provide Johnson Controls sequencer controller for pumps P-3 and P-4. Pumps to be activated through building management system when there is

a call for heat from any subsystem. Lead pump runs on call to run. If no Proof is received after 30-seconds, then Lead pump is OFF in emergency and a Maintenance alarm will be generated. Lag pump starts on failure of Lead pump. If Lag pump also fails, then generate Critical alarm. If both Lead and Lag are off in Emergency, then a Critical alarm will be generated. • Provide adjustable humidity setpoint control, adjustable between 50 – 60 % RH [relative humidity], preset to 55 % RH.• Provide pool space temperature with setpoint control between 70 – 90 degrees Fahrenheit, preset to 84 degrees Fahrenheit using existing sensor in

pool room.• Air handler to come complete with damper controls for exhaust supply and return.• Modulate outside air to regulate pool space RH percentage.• Controls to manage pump enable/disable and modulate control valve, outdoor air damper, fan and exhaust air fan to regulate supply air discharge

temperature during heating cycle. Preset supply discharge temperature to 140 degrees Fahrenheit for heating cycle, owner adjustable from 140 degrees Fahrenheit down to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

• Control valve will be used to bypass heat exchanger if supply water temperature is above the desired temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit, or temperature set by owner.

• Provide defrost cycle on heat recovery heat exchanger.• Provide Johnson Controls sequencer controller for pumps P-6A and P-6B. Pumps to be activated through building management system when there

is a call for heat from any subsystem. Lead pump runs on call to run. If no Proof is received after 30-seconds, then Lead pump is OFF in emergency and a Maintenance alarm will be generated. temperature set by owner.• Pool water temperature must not exceed a minimum temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit or a maximum temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit.• Pumped water (mixed temperature from heat system and pool circulation water) discharged to pool not exceed the maximum temperature of 104

degrees Fahrenheit. Provide downstream temperature sensor in mixed stream.

GENERAL PLUMBING FIXTURE NOTES

1. All plumbing fixtures shall be furnished c/w necessary traps, stops, tailpieces, trim, etc.

2. Plumbing contractor to supply and coordinate all plumbing fixture voltage and power requirements with electrical contractor.

3. All water heaters and hot water storage tanks shall have a drain valve installed at the bottom of the tank as required by code. All water heaters shall be seismically anchored as per code.

4. Provide sanitary venting piping for all fixtures.

GENERAL PLUMBING PROTECTION NOTES

1. Install backflow preventers in each water supply to mechanical equipment and systems and to other equipment and systems and to other equipment and water systems that may be sources of contamination. Comply with authorities having jurisdiction.

2. Locate backflow preventers in same room as connected equipment or system.

3. Install drain for backflow preventers with atmospheric-vent drain connection with air-gap fitting, fixed air-gap fitting, or equivalent positive pipe separation of at least two pipe diameters in drain piping and pipe-to-floor drain. Locate air-gap device attached to or under backflow preventer. Simple air breaks are unacceptable for this application.

4. Do not install bypass piping around backflow preventers.5. Provide water pressure regulator when required by authority

having jurisdiction and in compliance with the International Plumbing Code of 2015.

GENERAL PLUMBING NOTES

1. GENERALa. Contractor is responsible for all permits, licenses, fees

and charges as required by authority having jurisdiction for the performance of the work as outlined in these contract documents.

b. The contractor shall be responsible for installing a complete and functional system in accordance to the intent of the plans.

c. All plumbing shall be in accordance with local regulations and the International Plumbing Code of 2015.

d. Contractor to coordinate work with other disciplines.e. Drawing is diagrammatic and is not to be scaled. Refer

to architectural plans or field measurements for dimensions.

f. Contractor shall verify all existing construction prior to submitting his bid. No extras will be paid due to unanticipated existing conditions.

g. Extra charges - any discrepancies and omissions discovered shall be reported to the engineer immediately and prior to tender closing for rectification by addendum.

h. Shop drawings - submit 1 copy in pdf format to the engineer for approval. Provide 2 printed copies of reviewed shop drawings to owner in 2 O&M manuals. The contractor shall ensure that equals for the major equipment fit in the allocated space and meet codes and specifications.

i. Maintenance manuals - contractor shall provide 2 copies complete with shop drawings. Three ringer binder style is acceptable. Provide on-site operating seminar to familiarize owner with all functions of new equipment

j. Warranty - mechanical contractor shall provide written warranty on his system for one full year from time of acceptance by the owner.

k. Excavation - plumbing contractor shall excavate for his work and back fill to i2" above pipes with sand.

l. Structural - Misc. Steel support hangers for unit heaters, fans, heat pumps, etc. Shall be by the mechanical with clamps to structure, not welded. Structural reinforcing for equipment is by general contractor.

m. As-built drawings - mechanical contractor shall keep on site an extra set of drawings and specifications on which changes shall be noted daily. As-built drawings shall also be provided showing location of access doors, clean-outs, and any deviation from design drawings.

n. Potable water copper piping shall use lead-free solder. testing inside water lines shall hold 100 psi air for 1 hour.

o. Natural gas - plumber shall provide low pressure gas lines to appliances complete with yellow paint coating on pipe where exposed to outdoors. Confirm meter size with local gas utility company. Utility upgrade costs to be borne by owner.

p. Plumbing contractor shall be on site to sleeve Plumbing openings through concrete, to flash and counter flash and to coordinate joist locations away from mechanical shafts.

q. Design documents - these design documents are prepared solely for the use by the party with whom the design professional has entered into a contract and there are no representations of any kind made by the design professional to any party with whom the design professional has not entered into a contract.

r. The written book specification takes precedence over these notes.

GAS APPLIANCES AND REGULATIONS NOTES

1. All gas piping shall comply with the international Fuel Gas Code of 2015.

2. Provide step-down regulators at all appliances and size as per International Fuel Gas Code of 2015.

3. Vent natural gas regulators to outdoors. Terminate min. 3 ft from building openings and 10ft from mechanical intakes.

GENERAL PIPING NOTES

1. Piping material shall be as follows (Unless otherwise indicated in specification):a. Above ground hot and cold water piping: Copper type L.b. Drain waste and vent piping: ABS DR22.c. Gas piping: to ASTM A106 schedule 40.

2. Domestic hot, cold water lines and hydronic heating lines shall have 1" thermal insulation complete with vapor barrier, joints to be taped throughout facility. Hangers to have guides to allow for complete pipe insulation.

3. Contractor is responsible for routing water piping around zones that would be prone to freezing. The contractor will be responsible for any repairs and corrections to water lines not appropriately routed around freeze prone zones.

4. Valves on water lines shall be bronze ball valves. Do not use gate or globe valves. Valve size shall be the same than the inlet pipe size.

5. Install water hammer arrestors as indicated by code and where shown on plans. Concealed location arrestors are to be rated.

6. All hot and cold domestic water lines to fixtures shall be minimum 1/2".

7. Unless a hot water reticulation system has been called for in the contract documents, domestic hot water lines shall be equipped with a heat-trace heating system in compliance with Table C404.5.1 of the current state approved International Energy Conservation Code.

8. Plumbing piping shall not be installed above electrical panels. Provide required clearances per “N.E.C.” coordinate work with electrical contractor.

9. Insulate all above grade domestic hot water lines minimum 1/2" mineral wool and provide canvas jacket.

10. Caulk all pipe penetrations through fire rated walls. All caulking on building penetrations shall be a 1-component non-sag urethane sealant.

11. Provide intumescent pipe donuts at all penetrations of combustible piping form main floor ceiling space and main floor fire separations.

PLUMBING ALTERNATE NOTE

1. Alternate mechanical equipment is acceptable. Alternates must be equal or better in performance, durability, and warranty.

GENERAL SANITARY NOTES

1. Provide chrome escutcheon cover plates at all pipe penetrations of finished wall surfaces.

2. Vents through roof shall be min. 3" diameter at penetration unless otherwise indicated. Provide all required flashing to make vent penetration waterproof.

3. Space floor cleanouts no more than 100ft. Provide floor cleanouts in horizontal drains where the direction change by more than 45 degrees. Cleanout size shall be the same than the piping served.

4. Provide a trap guard for all floor drains.5. Mount wall cleanouts at all wall mounted plumbing fixture

drains.

GENERAL NOTES:

1. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS DEFINED BY THESE PLANS AND THE SPECIFICATIONS ARE TO BE CONSTRUCTED AS

COMPLETE AND OPERABLE SYSTEMS AND SHALL BE BID WITH THIS INTENT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE

SITE, READ ALL THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTS, AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION AND

WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED. SHOULD ANY ERROR, OMISSION, OR CONFLICT EXIST IN EITHER THE PLANS OR

2. THE ARCHITECTURAL AND MECHANICAL PLANS ARE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE ELECTRICAL DOCUMENTS SO FAR

AS ANY ELECTRICAL ITEMS THEY MAY CONTAIN. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO AND

COORDINATE WITH THEM. NO EXTRA COST SHALL BE ALLOWED FOR FAILURE TO COORDINATE THE CONTRACT

DOCUMENTS WITH OTHER TRADES AND/OR IF EQUIPMENT DIMENSIONS ARE GREATER THAN SPECIFIED AND/OR

DIMENSIONED ON THE PLANS.

3. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS, AND LABOR FOR THE CONNECTIONS OF

ALL EQUIPMENT SHOWN ON THE PLANS - ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL, ETC.

4. THIS PROJECT IS TO BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE MOST RECENT LOCAL, STATE, AND

NATIONAL CODES. IF AT ANY TIME DURING OR AFTER CONSTRUCTION SOMETHING IS FOUND TO BE INSTALLED IN

VIOLATION OF THESE CODES LISTED ABOVE, IT SHALL BE CORRECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR.

5. ALL EQUIPMENT PROVIDED BY THE EC SHALL BE LISTED AND LABELED BY A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING

AGENCY, ACCEPTABLE TO THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION, AND BE PROPERLY INSTALLED FOR THE

CONDITIONS AND SPACE THAT EQUIPMENT IS BEING INSTALLED WITHIN.

6. THE EC SHALL INSTALL A SEPARATE EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR IN EACH CONDUIT RUN. CONDUIT

SHALL NOT BE USED AS AN EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR. THE EC SHALL GROUND THE ELECTRICAL

SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL AND NATIONAL CODES.

7. CONDUIT LAYOUTS SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC, NOT INDICATING THE ROUTING REQUIRED. THE EC

SHALL ROUTE THE CONDUITS AS REQUIRED BY THE CONDITIONS OF THE INSTALLATION AND SHALL COORDINATE

WITH DUCTWORK, PIPING, EQUIPMENT, BUILDING STRUCTURE, AND OTHER POTENTIAL OBSTRUCTIONS.

8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW THE MOVEMENT, BEFORE ROUGH-IN, OF ANY ELECTRICAL PANEL, DEVICE,

LUMINAIRE, ETC. A DISTANCE OF 10 FEET WITHOUT REQUIRING ADDITIONAL COST TO THE PROJECT.

9. THE EC SHALL SECURE ALL CONDUIT TO THE STRUCTURE AS IT IS SET IN PLACE USING INDUSTRY STANDARD

METHODS AND PRACTICES. TO ASSURE ALL DEVICES ARE RIGIDLY SET, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL

SECURE ALL DEVICE BOXES WITH BRACKETS, HANGERS, ETC. DESIGNED FOR THE APPLICATION.

10. MINIMUM SIZE CONDUIT SHALL BE 3/4" UNO. CONDUIT INSTALLED WITHIN THE BUILDING IN DRY LOCATIONS WITHIN

WALL, CEILINGS, OR EXPOSED NOT SUBJECT TO PHYSICAL DAMAGE SHALL BE EMT WITH STEEL SET SCREW

FITTINGS. IN EXTERIOR LOCATIONS (EXCEPT FOR THE SERVICE ENTRANCE) THE CONDUIT SHALL BE EMT WITH

COMPRESSION GLAND TYPE FITTINGS. UNDERGROUND CONDUIT SHALL BE PVC (SCH. 40) WITH GRC ELBOWS AND

RISERS WRAPPED IN CORROSION RESISTANT MATERIALS WHERE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE SOIL.

11. FLEXIBLE CONDUIT SHALL BE LIMITED TO CONNECTIONS TO LIGHT FIXTURES AND FINAL CONNECTIONS TO MOTORS

OR OTHER EQUIPMENT SUBJECT TO VIBRATION. LENGTHS OF FLEXIBLE OR SEAL-TITE CONDUIT SHALL NOT BE

GREATER THAN 72 INCHES.

12. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL EMPTY CONDUITS WITH 200LB RATED NYLON PULL CORD.

13. BEFORE ANY ELECTRICAL CONDUIT, BOXES, ETC. ARE COVERED (FLOOR, CEILINGS, WALLS, ETC.), THEY SHALL BE

APPROVED BY THE INSPECTING OFFICER (INSPECTOR).

14. WHERE WIRE SIZE IS NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS FOR 20A, 120VAC BRANCH CIRCUITS, THE CIRCUIT SHALL

CONSIST OF 2#12 (CU,THHN) + 1#12 (CU,THHN) GND IN 3/4" EMT CONDUIT. THIS WIRE SIZE SHALL BE INCREASED TO

#10 (CU,THHN) FOR BRANCH CIRCUITS WITH OVERALL LENGTHS EXCEEDING 125' TO ACCOMMODATE FOR VOLTAGE

DROP. REFER TO EQUIPMENT SCHEDULES, FEEDER SCHEDULES, AND NOTES ON DRAWINGS FOR ALL OTHER

BRANCH CIRCUIT AND FEEDER WIRE/CONDUIT SIZING.

15. CONDUCTORS SHALL BE COPPER, 600VAC RATED, TYPE THHN/THWN-2 UNO. CONDUCTORS UP TO #10AWG SHALL

BE SOLID AND CONDUCTORS #8AWG OR LARGER SHALL BE STRANDED.

16. METAL CLAD CABLING MAY BE USED BETWEEN DEVICES SUCH AS LIGHTING, RECEPTACLES, SWITCHES, ETC.

UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY THE NEC. HOME RUNS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN CONDUIT. MC CABLE SHALL

NOT BE INSTALLED EXPOSED.

17. EC SHALL CLEAN THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AFTER COMPLETION OF THE INSTALLATION. REMOVE ALL

FINGER PRINTS, FOREIGN MATTER, PAINT, DIRT, GREASE, AND UN-NEEDED LABELS OR STICKERS FROM FIXTURES

AND EQUIPMENT. REMOVE ALL RUBBISH AND DEBRIS ACCUMULATED DURING INSTALLATION FROM THE PREMISES.

18. IT IS THE INTENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR ALL DEVICES TO BE FLUSH MOUNTED AND

CONDUIT/CABLING INSTALLED CONCEALED WITHIN WALLS/CEILINGS. IN AREAS WHERE CONDUIT MUST BE

INSTALLED EXPOSED IT SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE ARCHITECT AND/OR ENGINEER. ALL EFFORTS SHALL

BE MADE TO CONCEAL WIRING METHODS.

19. ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH FIRE RATED ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE SEALED WITH FIRE STOPPING, IE. 3M BRAND

21. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE PLACEMENT OF ALL DEVICES

INSTALLED WITHIN THE CEILING SUCH AS LIGHTING, SPEAKERS, FIRE SPRINKLERS, SMOKE/HEAT DETECTORS, ETC.

27. EC SHALL COORDINATE WITH EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS ON THE EXACT LOCATIONS OF ALL EQUIPMENT AND

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN. THE EC SHALL MAKE THE FINAL CONNECTION TO ALL EQUIPMENT

UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY THE EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER. OBTAIN FROM SUPPLIERS ALL WIRING DIAGRAMS
