Cad Cam was released in 1967 by a company called Delcam, aircrafts and automobiles were the first things to use Cad Cam because this software was an open source software and could be used for many different tasks. It was first used for 2D imagery and over the years it has changed so that we were able to create moveable 3D images.

This software is an open source software used to create 3D images. The school uses a version that requires dimensions and other measurements to make an object. There are also other types like the simulator that creates a realistic movement to the objects, you could even create a car engine that moves and operates like a regular engine. This can be used further to create products of your own.

Cad Cam earns its funding from all sorts of ways. They earn some of their funding from selling their products to schools and other buyers. They also get government funding to help run their business and they hold special fund raising events e.g. Fairs, raffles etc. They also obtain sponsorship from other companies and sell training to teachers.

Delcam is a reasonably sized company. The creators have been able to create many different types of Cad Cam software, they have even created software that is able to add more colour to an image and make it look life like, although for experienced I.T technicians, they can do this with their basic software and go on to create other types just like the company has done. This is most probably a part-time job because they have many technicians working at this and with technology these days, they can even do their jobs at home and send ideas to the company via e-mailing.

The company has many competitors because, open source software is something that can be made from scratch and with the help of a few features from other open source software. It has got an advantage over some of its competitors because it has been open longer than other open source software companies and with the help of other staff, they can go on to develop better versions for other specific tasks.

Cad Cam has a few weaknesses, because it is open source software they give the right to use their work and develop on it and make better versions to sell to other people. It is also a software that deals with certain tasks, unlike other well known software producers like Microsoft, they only deal with certain tasks, you would have to get a different type of open source software that deals with other forms of tasks.

I believe that the software is very clever and useful for developing ideas about products you want to sell on the market like bags, cars, shoes, boxes etc. If I was going to join the company I would however find a way to make the software more versatile so that it could be used for other purposes like word documents or for graphs and so on.
