Family Fun Day Once again the children, staff and families of Cairnlea Park Primary School

enjoyed an action-packed Family Fun Day. Thankfully, the weather was on our

side this time and there was no sign of the rain which had seen the original day

cancelled. There were plenty of rides and activities and an assortment of

delicious treats to eat. Teachers put a lot of work into the day’s preparation

and manned many of the rides and stalls.

Many thanks go to all of you who contributed to the success of the day.

On Family Fun Day I enjoyed Meltdown because I was always falling and when I fell I nearly did a flip. When I fell I held on the line and tripped Kyle over. I also enjoyed the Octopus Slide because it went very fast and it was fun. Micheal A 1JB

On Family Fun Day I went on the cars, train and swings. I went to see the animals and loved seeing the guinea pigs, rabbits, chicken and sheep. I really liked the hair spray. Maddison had blue, pink and purple hair. Jelena M 1JB

Christmas Food Hampers

Once again our school is

supporting the Salvation

Army’s annual Christmas Food

Drive for less fortunate

families in our community.

Any canned or packaged food, drinks,

sweets or Christmas themed produce

would be most gratefully accepted at

your child’s classroom.

Last year we managed to collect well

over 15 large boxes full of a variety of

goods to be distributed to local

families, proof that Cairnlea Park

Primary School really does

live by our first school rule of

‘Be Kind’.

2016 Year 4 iPad Program

Information Sessions

Parents of Year 3 students are invited to attend one of the upcoming

information sessions about the school’s 1-to-1 iPad program for 2016 Year

4 students.

The information sessions will be held in the Multi Purpose Room. There are two session times

available:

Wednesday 2nd December 9:00-10:00 am or Wednesday 2nd December 5:00-6:00 pm

The sessions will provide an outline of the program, including information about how the iPads will

be used in the classroom to support students’ learning, details about the devices, and details about

leasing and BYOD options. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the program.

Parents are asked to please return the note that was sent home earlier this week.

Cyber Safety Parent Information

Session Knowing how to use online technologies safely, and how to deal with issues, is

essential to young people having positive experiences online. Parents have an

important role to play in helping to educate and guide their children in their online activities.

CPPS has arranged a Cybersafety Internet Safety Awareness Presentation for Parents on

Monday 7th December from 5.30-6.30pm in the school Library.

This session has been arranged through the Cybersmart Outreach program (run by the Australian

Government and ACMA) and will be presented by one of their Outreach Trainers. The presentation

will provide an overview of cybersafety issues focusing on the interests and needs of parents. The

presentation runs for around 60 minutes, and will provide parents with an understanding of

cybersafety topics and advice on how to help children and young people stay safe online.

Further cybersafety information and resources can be found at www.esafety.gov.au

B4UACT As part of our school’s ongoing review procedure, our B4UACT document has been upgraded

to reflect the needs of the school more appropriately. The Student Engagement Committee

has worked during the course of the year to develop this new template for behaviour, and has

sought advice and opinion from both the student body and the staff. It is important that our

parent body and wider community also have an input into developing our behavioural

expectations, and for that reason, the blueprint of our new B4UACT matrix is presented to

you now. Please feel free to add any suggestions you may have, or call in to see me to discuss

any points.

**Please be aware that the expectations accumulate as you read across the matrix….what is

expected as a student is also expected as a class member, community member and as a global

citizen.

I look forward to hearing from you.
