  • How it all started!The story behind the start of Luigi’s is a long one, but truly a special one. The first steps are not unlike those of many tee

    from our local community. All of the actions and experiences led to this wonderful journey in fulfilling my lifelong dream of bin the restaurant industry and the owner of Luigi’s Ristorante Italiano.

    It all began in 1999, when I was only 16 and a freshman at Libertyville High School. The school year had finished, so I decidelook for a part-time job to get my head away from school for the summer. After looking around for a while, I finally landed my

    first official job as a cashier and phone person at Jake’s Pizza in Libertyville. I worked there during my remaining time in hschool and throughout my time attending the College of Lake County located in Grayslake, Illinois.

    During this time at Jake’s, my responsibilities began to gradually increase. Not only did work the register and answer phones,I was also a dishwasher, delivery driver and at times a cook. Surprisingly enough, I enjoyed every minute of it. With each pass

    day, my interest for the restaurant business kept increasing into the passion it is today.

    In the summer of ‘04 I applied to multiple state schools and was thrilled to get accepted at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. I went away and studied business management & marketing Western Illinois. I graduated and decided to come

    back home to my parents' house while searching for a “real” job. However, nothing caught my attention and I immediately noticed once again that my passion was the food industry and everything associated with the restaurant world. After applying

    at different locations, I decided to go back to Jake’s Pizza where it all began, as they were looking for managerial help. I do not know where the next 5 years went, but I remained at Jake’s until it unfortunately closed down.

    I was once again on a quest and, not long after that unfortunate closing of Jake’s, I found myself in yet another great spot; PItalia in Libertyville. While managing there for two years, the owner approached me with the idea of transferring ownership of

    his other location (Mundelein) to me, and my eyes lit up! That had always been my goal and dream, and here was the opportunity I had long awaited. I had become very comfortable with the daily tasks involved in running the restaurant smoothly, but the hardest part was yet to come. Obtaining the capital necessary for the transaction was a very stressful ordeal. However, with thinsatiable support of my loving family and after exhausting every available resource, I was finally approved for a business loa

    February of 2015, I became owner of Pizza Italia Mundelein! Soon after, I decided to create my own franchise and re-named it Luigi’s Ristorante Italiano. Since then, Luigi’s is actively involved in numerous local events and fundraisers, and hope to ser

    community to progress together for many years to come.

    So, now, I find myself here, grateful for every moment and every opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hothat you find inspiration in this story and also choose to take those first steps towards fulfilling your own dream.

    Looking to expand my franchise, I never imagined that my next location would be Luigi’s Metepec, which openedit’s door on June 11th, 2017 (located about 40 miles northeast of Mexico City). I look forward to fruitful expansion and

    hopefully bring new locations elsewhere in the promising future.
