• A notification can be an event or a task:
An event has a place and time
A task has a deadline date

Notification Authoring• Creating a notification:
If needed, create a new dynamic list.Decide if you want to send a task or an event.Address the notification to a dynamic list.Enter other information including subject and body.
Body can contain links to web pages for more information.
Enter the date, etc. for the task or event.Enter Send Date.Either save as Draft, or put your notification in the Queue so that it’s sent at midnight on the Send Date.

Via CalMail, an email message with an .ics enclosure
Via CalCentral, a item in either their My Tasks or My Events widget

Notifications: What Happens After Sending?
• Opening the .ics enclosure on a student’s computer will save the notification to their computer’s calendar, with the option to sync with online tools such as Google Calendar.

• Opening the .ics enclosure on a smart phone like an Android device or iPhone will save the notification to their phones calendar, also with the option to sync with online tools such as Google Calendar.
