An Angel opens prison doors for the ApostlesThe high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, and were extremely jealous of the apostles. So they arrested the apostles and threw them into jail. But that night, an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, and freed the apostles, and said to them, “Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this new life.”

After being released and hearing those instructions, the apostles entered into the temple early in the morning and started teaching. The high priest called the council together of all the Jewish elders, and sent order to the prison to have the apostle brought. But when the officers arrived at the prison they didn’t find the apostles there. The officers returned and said, “The prison is fully locked up and all the guards are on duty at the gates: but when we opened the door, we found no one inside.”

Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what had happened to the prisoners. Then a man came and said, “Listen, the men you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.”

Acts Chapter 5, verses 17 through 25

All scriptures are edited and paraphrased from the American King James Version.
