UKE WEST members were awesome ambassadors for CWPS last Friday at the CALD Wellness Expo. The selection of Australiana songs proved very popular, with many people

singing along, followed by enthusiastic applause. We all enjoyed a delicious lunch of

multicultural food and chatting with various people who were keen to know more about our

group. All the service providers were happy to give a variety of interesting bits and pieces (pens,

stickers, books etc) to Mrs Start so that she could create a show bag for every UKE WEST

member. Students were supported by Mrs Start, Mrs Hopkins and Mrs Dodd. We were also able to promote the various programs we offer at our school such as Supported

Playgroup and the Prep Transition program. Thanks to Mr Yosoufi, Aidan, Lauren and

Nina for helping at the expo.

Club House is a place where children can play at recess and lunchtime if

they are feeling bored or lonely or sad or if they just like to play cards

or board games. Club House is located near the Prep playground

and is supported by mentors.

PROGRAM (SASP)

PARENT INFORMATION

There are many reasons a child may

refuse to go to school or their

attendance is poor. These may include

(but not limited too);

• Bullying

• Anxiety

• Friendships and social skills

• Family stress and breakdown

This is a very challenging time for

parents and the best approach for change

is to seek support, you do not have to

do it alone.

With a shared approach between schools,

parents/carers and SASP we can make a

difference. We CAN get children to

school happy and on time, together.

SASP offers a flexible approach to

support, providing families with a

service that will meet in your home,

school or other locations. SASP can

assist families to develop goals to

breakdown barriers in order to improve

school attendance. In addition we

offer:

• Case management

• Group work

• Parent workshops

If you would like support please talk to

Debbie Dodd or Colin Wagg and they can

help to make a referral into the program

for you.

Giving Back to the Kids

Thank you for your ongoing support

NEW .... Junior Dance Party (run by Cranbourne Blue Light)

For children in years 3 to 6.

This Friday from 6-9pm at the Cranbourne Public Hall (next door to KFC) on South

Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne. This disco is fully supervised by volunteers and police.

There is a canteen inside with hot and cold food and children are not allowed to leave until the end of the disco when they are collected by a responsible adult. Vouchers are available this

week from the office for $8 each to be paid at the door on the night. Money raised through

ticket sales going to support our school HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) program.

Could all parents please

include a piece of fruit in

children’s lunchboxes

every day for fruit time.
