School Camp

Our Year 3-6 students had a fantastic time at last week’s

school camp at the Outdoor Education site at Morisset. They

returned exhilarated, exhausted and with increased confidence

after a series of mental and physical challenges.

Our happy campers participated in archery, climbed a high

rope challenge, learned about bushcraft, tried their hands at

fencing, plummeted at 60km/h down a dual flying fox, scaled a

10m rock climbing wall, challenged each other in orienteering

and were dropped from a 13m giant swing!

Islington, as always, participated in all activities with great

enthusiasm and enjoyment. It was a pleasure to see such

happy kids having such a great time. We will definitely be going

back in the future.

Fun Run

Congratulations to all our runners in today’s fun

run and thank you to all who helped raise funds

to support our school. Your efforts are greatly

appreciated. All money raised will go towards out

school’s end of year special events. A big thank

you from Mr Lumley for being such a generous

and supportive school community.

Newcastle Excursion 1-2L On Monday 1/2L went on an excursion into the city with Mr Bell, Miss A and Miss Wagstaff. At the beginning of the day at school we went up the stairs to the classroom and put on sunscreen then got into our groups and went down the stairs and out the gate! We started walking to Hamilton train station and hopped on the train. When we hopped off the train we went to Fort Scratchley. At Fort Scratchley we saw cannons and guns. We had a break and something to eat and had a look around at the museum. Then we went to the beach and we made sculptures made of sand and then we smashed them! Then we emptied out our shoes and walked up the break wall and we saw Mr Bell's art and 3 seals. After that we went back to the train station and when we got back to school we sat down, had something to eat and then it was home time. We had a fantastic day! Mia Kennedy
