PLANNED PARENTHOOD• Kamala Harris is a staunch supporter of Planned Parenthood and has received campaign donations from numerous Planned Parenthood affiliates.

• Illegal sales of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood happened in California. Attorney General, Kamala Harris did not go after Planned Parenthood, instead she went after the person who took video footage that revealed these atrocities.

ABORTION• In 2015 Loretta Sanchez voted NO on HR 7, a resolution that would put a permanent Ban on Federal Funding of Abortion.

• In 2015 Loretta Sanchez voted NO on HR 36 The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. A resolution that would prohibit abortion after 20 weeks or greater, the age in which an unborn child feels pain.

Note: Two Democrats are running for the same office is the result of CA PROP 14 approved by voters in 2010, which allowed the top 2 candidates in the primaries to advance to the General Election, regardless of party affiliation.

War on Terror

Applauds the U.S. Supreme Court decision that recognizes “gay marriage” as equal

to marriage.

Will continue to use the barbaric standard of pro-abortion judges and the litmus test for

nominees.

Demand that non-discrimination regulations be extended to include gender identity, gender

fluidity and transgenderism “rejects the misuse of [religious freedom] to discriminate.” (p.23)

Leaves the condition of Jerusalem up in the air; debated endorsing the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement’s anti-Israeli goals.

Supports the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

No statement supporting school choice. No statement opposing Common Core.

Refuses to mention Radical Islam; condemns “Islamophobia” as hate speech.

Democrats believe that abortion must be made safe and available, refuse to defund Planned Parenthood, demand a repeal of the Hyde

Amendment, and seek increased federal and state funding for abortion.

Marriage remains the union between one man and one woman. Will seek to overturn

Obergefell v. Hodges.

Supports the appointment of judges who respect family, marriage, and the sanctity of innocent

human life.

Supports the original and authentic meaning of Title IX non-discrimination regulations. Supports the constitutional right of religious freedom in all

cases.

Recognizes Jerusalem as the “eternal capital” of the Jewish State. Explicitly rejects the BDS

Movement as anti-Semitic, rejects the false notion of Israel as an occupier.

Opposes registering women for the draft.

Supports the fight for school choice; opposes Common Core.

Specifically mentions Radical Islam as posing an existential threat to personal freedom and peace

around the world.

Democrat Republican

Affirms that unborn children have a fundamental right to life. Opposes funding for Planned

Parenthood or any other organizations that traffics in abortions and fetal body parts,

supports the Hyde Amendment, supports the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,

and strongly opposes infanticide.

Religious Liberty

Platform intertwines LGBT issues and religious liberty. “We support a progressive vision of

religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate.”

That is it. It said you cannot take taxpayer dollars and fire people just for being gay. 9 5/25/2016 259 HR 5055 1130 Byrne: prohibits the use of funds in contravention of the Religious Freedom 233 to 186 to 15 Y Restoration Act of 1993, Executive Order 13279, or the ADA Unfortunately, despite our broad history of working together to protect the free exercise right, the President refused to provide conscience protections for religious-based organizations who engage in government contracting. This amendment would clarify that existing religious freedom protection already in law under the RFRA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and President Bush’s Executive Order 13279 would apply, irrespective of the amendment offered by Mr. Maloney. 10 9/18/2015 506 HR 3504 Franks: 248 to 177 to 8 to 1 Y Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (Sec. 3) This bill amends the federal criminal code to require any health care practitioner who is present when a child is born alive following an abortion or attempted abortion to: (1) exercise the same degree of care as reasonably provided to any other child born alive at the same gestational age, and (2) ensure that such child is immediately admitted to a hospital. The term “born alive” means the complete expulsion or extraction from his or her mother, at any stage of development, who after such expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut. Also, a health care practitioner or other employee who has knowledge of a failure to comply with these requirements must immediately report such failure to an appropriate law enforcement agency. An individual who commits an overt act that kills a child born alive is subject to criminal prosecution for murder. 11 1/22/2015 45 HR 7 Permanent Ban on Federal Funding of Abortion 242 to 179 to 12 Y
