President’s Report
Our 75th Anniversary Concert was an outstanding success. A fantastic evening of diverse entertainment wasenjoy by all who came. Gerry Chapman was a great M.C as usual, and it was good to see our Theatre members tread the boards once again. We started of with Trish & Angelo Bona perform a medley of songs from the 1930’s and the night just went from strength to strength. My sincere thanks to all our performers who all excelled on the night. They were Trish & Angelo, Peter Carr, Sarah Cosstick, Paul Treasure, Kim Fletcher, Priscilla Busher, The Theatre Choir, Jack Barker, Bobbie Chapman, Fiona McCuish, Sheila Nicholson, Anne Merrick, Alan Smith, Bree Hartley, Michelle Harris & Kylie Grima. Kim Fletcher & Bree Hartley did all of the Co-ordination & we were lucky to have Maureen Hanson play the piano for the performers. A delicious supper was put together for us by the C.W.A Kelmscott branch which was enjoyed by all. The past show footage of previous shows was outstanding. Thanks Daniel for putting this on. The concert was the last major event in our 75th Anniversary calendar. It has been a very good year so far in many ways. Great effort everyone. Thank you to all who attended the Busy Bee. We achieved what we had set out to do. Special thanks to Trevor Dhu in cleaning up the Cat Walk. Our General Meeting is on the 21st October. Please try to attend this. I will outline what the Theatre has done so far this Year & what plans we have in stall for 2009. Most of you will be aware that our Secretary Sherrill Wallis & her husband Ian, left for the U.K to visit Ian’s sick father. They just arrived at Heathrow only to be told that Ian’s father had passed away. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to them both. Hope to see you all at the General Meeting. Kindest regards Zyg Woltersdorf
