For the last 12 years Clinton Raymond Shif-fler, '226a, '24ma, has served as president of theCrystal Cave Mining Company in Nipton, Cali-fornia . Mr . Shiffler makes his home in Los An-geles. Soon after the beginning of World War 11,he resigned from the principalship of the Los An-geles Adult Evening High School to take a posi-tion as an instructor and supervisor of militaryscience and tactics in a camp training U. S. Armyand Navy Air Force personnel. During the lastyears of the war he held the position of expeditorwith the Consolidated Steel Ship ConstructionCompany in San Pedro. Mr . Shifller has been prin-cipal of the high school in El Paso, Texas, and su-perintendent of schools in Cleveland, Glendive,Montana, and Alamogordo, New Mexico. During the schoolyear of 1947-48, Mr. Westervelt served as vice-president of the Engineer's Club, vice-president ofSt. Pat's Council and was on the advertising staffof the Sooner Shamrock . He was voted the out-standing junior engineer and received the TomBoyd Memorial Award. His major is electricalengineering. Mr . Westervelt has maintained agrade average of 2.62 in his engineering studiesand is a member of Pe-et and Phi Eta Sigma, na-tional honorary fraternity for freshman men. He isa member of Eta Kappa Nu, honorary electricalengineering fraternity ; treasurer of A. 1 . E. E. ;has been student senator from the College of En-gineering, and has been active in many engineer-ing activities .
