innacle created the 3d BIM models of Cambria Suites PNashville - a hotel project in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, consisting of 1 Building with 20 floors spread over 2
zones for fabrication at Level of Development 400. The models were used to produce shop drawing for construction and to meet various objectives of the project viz. 3D coordination, clash mitigation, quantity take-offs, visualization and 4D capabilities for scheduling, phasing, sequencing & digital mock-ups.

Our scope of work for the project included creation of 3D BIM Model for Sheet metal. Basic coordination was done by us and other trade coordination was done as per the clash report provided by the client. We provided shop drawing for Sheet Metal, As-Built Updates as per mark-up drawings and facility management as per available information. : Architectural Background A. Clash Coordination
Challenges: 1. Missing Database Fitting: Colored notes were not available in the database, though we had to use the conical tap
Solution: We copied and used the conical fitting from another project for the missing database fitting
2. Input Inconsistencies: We did not get coil connection dimension from the posted FCU submittal though, we required the dimension to provide the 3D access in our drawing.
Solution: We determined the use of an approximate coil connection location for the FCUs not having the dimension on the submittal. Based on that, we got the 3D access i.e. variable (by a few inches) while still remaining acceptable for coordination and field installation.
4. FCU-1 and 3 submittal openings were not matching with the mechanical plan's orientation. The plan showed side connection and the submittal stated bottom connection.
3. Mismatch between Revit 3D architectural model & architectural contract document
Solution: We used architectural plans from the Revit 3D model, while investigating the reason for the variation.
Solution: We followed the notation and small detail on the FCU submittal detail sheets, that showed the rear end return air (side connections) as optional.

We delivered clash-free 3D BIM Model by repairing clashes and conflicts and incorporating RFI responses. Every week we participated in group coordination meeting. We filed and managed documents on specified FTP site and provided a complete set of duct drawings including plans, sections, and required details in AutoCAD.dwg format using Autodesk Fabrication software. Moreover, concrete pad layouts were provided for mechanical equipment. Ductwork mains were detailed in 3D and were connected directly to all the required equipment including mechanical system room rough in and Equipment tie-ins. Single point of contact was used for this project, facilitating project communication between India and US, which helped us to maintain standards, quality, specifications and templates. Moreover, using Newforma helped us in Centralized File Sharing & Seamless Workflow (Global Collaboration), RFI Creation, Document Control, Information Access & Enhanced Search and Ease of Operation.
