Team Size BIM End Date June, 2017 Our scope of work for the project included creation of 3D Models of Sheet Metal, Mechanical Piping and Plumbing (accessory, equipment and fittings) of all buildings, Basic & Other trade coordination as well as preparation of Shop Drawing/2D Drawings for HVAC, MP and PL trades. We provided As-Built Updates as per mark-up drawings and facility management as per available information. Basic scope of our services include i. Weekly participation in group coordination meeting using NAVIS software ii. Repairing clashes & conflicts, incorporating RFI responses iii. Filing and managing documents on specified FTP site iv. Providing a complete set of M & P drawings including plans, sections and required details in AutoCAD .dwg format (using Autodesk Fabrication software) v. Providing overhead piping plan drawing (piping showing with BOP elevation & dimensions from column lines vi. Providing concrete pad layout for mechanical and plumbing equipment vii. Mechanical piping mains to be detailed in 3D - Piping to run within 3 feet of VAV's or FCU's (not including final connections to Fan coil units or terminal units) viii. Providing overhead and underground plumbing drawings with BOP and dimensions from column lines including Domestic Water Risers in typical rooms and mechanical system room rough-in and equipment tie-ins. Scope of Work Trades Covered: HVAC, Plumbing Software Used: Autodesk Fab CADMEP, Naviswork – 2016 LOD: 400 MEP Thompson Company, INC MEP Engineer Pinnacle’s Value Addition We raised RFIs pertaining to: i. Missing Ceiling Height & Mismatch of Marked Ceiling Height with Plan & Section Detail (ceiling plan showed 21'-0" but the section showed 21'-9"). ii. The elevation of topping slab was indicated by cross hatched area. However, we did not find any specific area for the elevations. iii. The elevation of topping slab was lower than structural slab in Challenges & Solutions 1. Input Challenge - Service missing in the database: PD service in waste and vent file were missing in the database- Subs Contractor BMCC (Bernhard MCC, L.L.C.)* Solutions: We raised RFIs to the client with specific snaps, took client suggestion and created BIM Model with the help of our expertise. Shop Drawing - Sheet Metal innacle created the 3D BIM Models of JW Marriot Hotel P consisting of 1 Building with 34 Floors (3 Zones) for fabrication at LOD 400 to produce shop drawing for construction and to meet various objectives of the project viz. 3D coordination, clash mitigation and quantity take-offs. 2. Coordination Challenge: Due to space constrain duct insulation clash with ceiling in Navis model. Solutions: We planned our resources, incorporated the changes made in the BIM Model with the help of our expertise and delivered the models to our client. elevation chart. We resolved clashes arising out of constructability issues related to duct vs. plumbing, plumbing vs. MEP and other trade coordination. We rerouted ducts and pipes for providing cost-effective solution to our client. We communicated with the client through Webex, Newforma and email. Single point of contact was used for this project, facilitating project communication between India and US, which helped us to maintain standards, quality, specifications and templates. Moreover, using Newforma facilitated Centralized File Sharing & Seamless Workflow (Global Collaboration), RFI (Creation), Document Control, Transmittals Tracking (Time Saving), Access Information & Enhanced Search helping client to filter and download current data, Ease of operation due to Newforma PDF Binder Tool and Risk Mitigation & Security of data.
