Your leader:

Dafydd Wyn Morgan organised his first walking adventures when staying

with his ‘mamgu’* in Tregaron in the 1970s. The town then was famous for

pony trekking with over a 100 pony trekkers a week arriving between May

and September. Dafydd has been organising guided walks since 1994 a(er

he returned to Tregaron to live. Dafydd has completed Mountain Leader

training and holds a valid Outdoor First Aid Cer.ficate and over the last 20

years he has organised over 150 guided walks in the Cambrian Mountains, Cardigan Bay, and

all three of Wales’ Na.onal Parks. He has also organised over 10 charity mountain challenges

and established Tregaron’s first walking club in 2003 and annual walking fes.val in 2011. Dafydd loves walking in far flung places too

and has spent .me walking in England, Scotland, Ireland, the French Alps, The Tatras Mountains in Poland, The Atlas Mountains in

Morocco, Tanzania and the Indian and Nepal Himalaya. Dafydd is a fluent Welsh speaker who has local knowledge and stories that will

make for an interes.ng walking experience. * ‘mamgu’ is the Welsh for grandmother

Where we meet:

We can meet in the Tregaron Alpine Hut, where there’s an opportunity for some coffee and cake and a chat about the intended route. Otherwise the mee.ng point will be at a mutually agreed loca.on.

The former forester’s cabin is now transformed into a welcoming mee.ng point with electricity, a wood burning stove and Wi-Fi broadband.

Informa.on about Ceredigion and the Cambrian Mountains is also freely available at the Tregaron Alpine Hut.

Postcode for the Hut is Tregaron SY25 6JB Grid ref SN 680 601 Road B4343
