Happy Spring! We’ve certainly been enjoying some nice weather this year. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been spending more time outdoors and opening my windows as much as I can at home. I have a new neighbor, Karen, who was doing some yard work. The work she did was beautiful, and I really appreciate how nice it makes the neighborhood look. She actually has a pond right at the front of her property that is very peaceful to look at. Unfortunately, she started the work at 7:30 on Saturday morning! She had chain saws and wood chippers going all day, all weekend. I was really frustrat- ed because I wanted to enjoy my weekend outside. I thought about yelling over the fence or going over to tell her to stop the noise but I didn’t. Instead, I put myself in her shoes and calmed down when I looked at things a little differently. I got to thinking about how easily it would have been to just go over and have an altercation. I’m glad I didn’t. This got me thinking about be- ing a good neighbor. Here are a few tips I have for you when dealing with neighbors… Introduce yourself to your neighbor. When I was younger, we used to take cookies to new family. Who doesn’t love fresh baked chocolate chip cookies? Take a deep breath and count to 10 before saying or doing anything if your neighbor is annoying you. This has saved me many times from making a donkey’s behind out of myself. Ask yourself if the annoyance is really worth getting worked up over. Remove yourself from the annoyance. Talk to your neighbor. Get to know them. They may not even know they are bothering you, and you may need their help someday. Keep noise levels down, especially after 10:30 pm. One of my neighbor’s has a truck with a loud bass. ANNOYING! Be mindful of where you park your car. Don’t you just hate when someone parks so that the sidewalk is blocked? If you are going to have a party, let your neighbors know. Parking may become a problem if a lot of extra cars are in the lot. Warm Regards, 4/10

I was really frustrat-ed because I wanted to enjoy my weekend outside. I thought about yelling over the fence or going over to tell her to stop the noise but I didn’t. Instead, I put myself in her shoes and calmed down when I looked at things a little differently. I got to thinking about how easily it would have been to just go over and have an altercation. I’m glad I didn’t. This got me thinking about be-ing a good neighbor. Here are a few tips I have for you when dealing with neighbors…

Introduce yourself to your neighbor.

Warm Regards,

4/10

MAINTENANCE STUFF

Please do not put aluminum foil inside the bottom of the oven or line the stove top’s drip pans.

If you have a faucet that is dripping, please let us know as tightening the handle will not resolve the

issue. Additionally, please report toilets that will not shut off as soon as possible.

If you have submitted a maintenance request and the issue has resolved itself prior to a technician

arriving, please let us know otherwise you will be assessed a service charge.

Service calls are completed in the order in which they are received. If your request is submitted in

the morning, or as early in the day as possible, maintenance will be better able to address your re-

quest the same day.
