Support Information The 2015-2016 First Interim Fiscal Status Report is the first major review of the 2015-2016 fiscal year. This report presents a comparison between the board’s adopted budget, projected revenues, expenditures, other sources and uses of funding in the 2015-2016 fiscal year. The First Interim Status Report as of October 31, 2015 presents available federal, state, and local revenue allocations, salary and benefit changes, and budget transfers approved through October 31, 2015. The report indicates the district will be able to meet all of its General Fund obligations as planned to date. Decisions made by the board after October 31, 2015 will be incorporated into the Second Interim Report due for board review and adoption in March 2016. Staff will provide the board an overview of this district’s financial position and multiyear projection. The district experienced increased expenditures in special education, services, and operations above budgeted projections. Staff will provide detailed analysis regarding these variances. Despite these unexpected expenses, the district’s multi-year fiscal outlook remains positive over the course of the multi-year projection. Acceptance of this report establishes the projections provided in the Frist Interim Report as the approved working budget for the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year. II. Recommendation It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the 2015-2016 First Interim Fiscal Status Report for the period of July 1, 2015 through October 31, 2015 and determines to file a positive certification with the Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools. 11-A-1
