Families have the opportunity to build unique, individual weekly plans to provide an awesome camp experiences that children enjoy. Last summer over 1,200 children benefited from a full array of services and this summer promises to be just as exciting with our traditional full

day camp theme, ”Explore the Universe”.

Traditional full day camp includes activities, field trips, and camp

experiences for children entering Kindergarten during the 2016—17 school year through 13 years old. Traditional full day camp rate is $125 per week (no sibling discounts). Throughout the summer, we offer weekly enrollment flexibility with each week open to online enrollment until 14 days prior to the start of the week. Weekly enrollment deadline dates are posted on page 11. Enroll in any number of weeks or the entire summer.

Each day includes indoor and outdoor activities, small and large group games, groups of multi-age and similar age, active play and quiet play. And, of course, there is always plenty of time for just being with summer camp friends.

The summer camp experience includes both a morning and

afternoon snack. A nonperishable lunch and drink will need to be brought from home each day for your child.

Flexible day care is available on a week-by-week plan. This is a summer camp and not designed for occasional, daily drop-off care (fewer than 5 days per week). See page 11 of this brochure for our week-by-week offerings. Hours for traditional full day camp sites for kindergarten through age 13 are 6:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In addition to our activity packed Explore the Universe traditional full day camp, we are offering over 85 Opportunity and Sports Camps for different grade levels and interests. These specialty camps are provided by WWS teachers, staff, and coaches. All opportunity and sports camps have been categorized by Week and by Interest. These camps can be with or without wrap around traditional full day camp.

Opportunity and Sports Camps concentrate on specific areas of interest to enhance each child’s summer experience. Camp descriptions are listed by weeks. Children who enroll in wrap around traditional day camp with an opportunity or sports camp will have bus transportation to and from the camp. The child will be encouraged to attend the specialty camp regardless if there is an alternate traditional day activity or field trip the same time as the opportunity or sports camp. When a child is enrolled in wrap around care with a camp and the parent requests the child stay back at traditional camp instead of attending the opportunity or sports camp, the account will be charged an additional $10 for that day. Field trips are planned in advance (see page 8). Children who are enrolled in an opportunity or sports camp that meet the same day and time of a field trip are not included in the field trip. If the parent request their child attend the field trip instead of the opportunity or sports camp, the staff must confirm there is ample bus seating and field trip entrance available before the child may attend the field trip. Upon confirming there is adequate space, the parent will still be responsible for the full weekly enrollment fee plus an additional $25 for the field trip. There is no credit given for not attending the opportunity or sports camp.

ENROLLMENT DEADLINE: Weekly camps are open for enrollment until 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start date of each week. Please keep in mind some camps have limited enrollment (noted at the end of all camp descriptions). Providing the family account is current, camp enrollment will be filled on a first come/first serve basis. For complete enrollment instructions, see page 9.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Enrollment withdraw notice must be received by email to [email protected] 14 days prior to start of the camp (cancellation dates are noted at the top of each page of the camp descriptions). Failure to provide cancellation notice by the deadline dates will result in your account being charged for that week’s camp. LATE PICKUP POLICY: To honor our hard working staff, late pickup fees are substantial and are collected. After 6:00 p.m., a late fee of $1 is charged for every minute late. Once a family has had two late pickups during the summer, the family will be charged $5 per minute late. If a family has received a total of five late pickups during the summer, the child’s attendance will be suspended immediately until the parent has made contact with the Student Support Programs District Manager and has paid the late pickup fees. This will be strictly enforced. Thank you for your consideration in helping our very dedicated staff.

Traditional full day camp will be staffed with BAC leads and assistants who are already trusted, familiar faces with our Westfield students. We are committed to low student to adult ratios (1:15) so that all children receive full support.

Westfield Washington Schools is offering over 85 specific, single-focus camp experiences hosted by our Westfield Washington Schools teachers, staff, and coaches for children who will be entering kindergarten through 12th grade of the 2016-17 school year. These opportunity and sports camps are fully detailed in the camp descriptions listed by weeks starting on page 12 of this summer camp catalog. Also included are the popular Westfield High School sports camps hosted by our high school coaches and assistant coaches. In order to make this summer transition easier for incoming kindergarten students, we have placed the majority of the kindergarten camps at Monon Trail Elementary with the exception of a few sports camps. Monon Trail Elementary is also the same location where kindergarten children will attend traditional full day summer camp. All other oppor-tunity and sports camps for children 1st grade and up are located at various school buildings throughout the district. Please see locations for opportunity and sports camps in each of the camp descriptions starting on page 12. When the children’s weekly enrollment includes wrap around traditional full day camp plus an opportunity or sports camp, Westfield Washington Schools will provide round trip bus transportation to and from the traditional full day camp site to the opportunity or sports camp.
