Permitted Extension above the Scheduled FDP Limitation is dependent upon:• Time of FDP Start,• Number of Pilots,

• Number of Sectors, and• Number of Sectors, and• Class of Inflight Rest Facility




• 2 Pilots, 09:00 FDP Start, 4 Sectors14:30

• 3 Pilots, 15:30 FDP start, 3 Sectors, Class 2 Rest Facility16:30• 4 Pilots, 14:30 FDP Start, 1 Sector, Class 1 Rest Facility 21:00




Rest period following must be increased by the amount of the extension above the Scheduled FDP limit:

Example:• 2 Pilots, 09:00 FDP Start, 4 Sectors 12:30 FDP

Limit• Minimum Rest Away from Base 10:00

• FDP extended to 13:15 0:45 Extension• Required Rest must now be 10:45

Minimum Required rests are defined in:• 700.22, 700.34, 700.37

700.26 Unforeseen Operational Circumstances

Short Term Re-Planning — PIC’s Discretion

Split-Duty may be applied to extend a FDP above the scheduled limit under the following conditions:

• The first 0:45 of the break provided is not counted towards the extension. (700.31 (1)(e))

• The break given will only count at 50% towards the extension. (700.31 (1)(d)(iii))
