Welcome to

The North Face®

Canadian Death Race

125 kms of extreme mountain trail, 3 mountain

summits, 17,000 ft of elevation change and a major

river crossing. The race course snakes around the

small town of Grande Cache, Alberta. The scenery

is as impressive as the challenge that lies ahead.

Train hard... train very, very hard – this is

Canada’s toughest race.

a dark myth

Haunting the trails is the dark, cloaked figure of

Charon, ferryman of the dead. As in the Greek myth,

racers must carry one gold coin for safe passage

across the Smoky River. From person to person,

summit to summit, the coin must be passed. Lose

it and be condemned to wander forever, just as lost

souls once wandered the banks of the River Styx.

it’s a killer

This is an adventure race of epic proportions!

Most of the course is very remote. The aid stations

are far apart. Much of the terrain is extreme. Read

the rules and the racer details package thoroughly.

Know what you’re in for. Be prepared. You must

enter with total commitment. Once you register,

there are no substitutions and no refunds.

No exceptions.

The race claims only 1500 lucky souls. Do it solo or

as a relay team. Register online (see details inside)

and then train, train and train some more.
