Kitchen Renovation
The Kitchen Renovation ProjectKitchens can involve some of the most costly and complex renovations. Kitchens are also high energy use areas and significant sources of moisture for the house. There are many opportunities to include green features in a kitchen renovation. This includes five key aspects of the home and the broader environment:
1.Occupant Health – ensuring superior quality of indoor air, water, lighting and comfort.2.Energy Efficiency–reducing energy use in all areas, in all seasons. 3.Resource Efficiency–Making efficient use of building materials, managing construction wastes, and using durable building components.4.Environmental Impact–Reducing impacts on the environment at all stages of the house’s lifecycle. 5.Affordability–Many features of a green home or renovation make it affordable, and its design makes it easily adaptable to its occupants' changing needs.
