Friday 3 July School Athletics 9.30 Field events (Ages 8-12 Yrs) 12.30 Track events (all children) Canteen order $5.00 Friday 3 July End of Term 2 Monday 6 July 10.00 School Working Bee Tuesday 21 July Start Term 3 Students return Friday 21 August Small Schools Athletics Carnival Dear parents and carers, The modified Cross Country race brought such excitement and joy for all children. The level of participation was outstanding with every child performing their personal best. The age champions for 2020 are: 12 yrs Lacey; 11 yrs Lance and Ruby H; 10 yrs Eamon and May; 8/9 yrs Emma and Lucas and our 5/6/7 yrs champions were Rachael and Lyric. The winning team for 2020 by the hair of their chinny chin chin, was Grey Gums! Congratulations to Golden Wattle for the excellent competition! Modified school reports have been sent home and are to be followed up with parent, student and teacher meetings to review and set new learning goals and to update our understanding of each child’s wellbeing. Parents are asked to share the report with students to help set new learning and improvement goals. Working Bee is being planned for Monday 6 July from 10.00am. Are you able to help? We want to lay some pavers, spread woodchips and work in the top vegetable garden. Please bring wheelbarrows, garden tools and gloves. THANK YOU!! We are all looking forward to the Athletics events tomorrow. The field events - Long Jump, High Jump, Discus and Shotput will be held from 9.30 for children 8yrs to 12 yrs. If you are able to help us to set up from 8.00am that would be awesome. The younger children will come across at 12.30 for the track events. Golden Wattles will be keen to come back against the defending champion Grey Gums. We will have fun with lots of team spirit as every child participates to achieve a personal best. Your support for the P&C Fundraiser Wood Raffle is very much appreciated. All money and tickets (sold and unsold) should be returned to the office for the draw on Friday 3 July. Thank you so much to Greg Heffernan and Tim Collins for organizing the wood delivery and Natasha Anderson for organizing the tickets. Congratulations to Lacey who sold the most books of tickets and Brianna, second. The lucky winner of the ticket sellers draw will be announced tomorrow. Thank you to the many families who supported the Cubby House design Competition. We will review all of the entries during the holidays with Henry Grose to come up with the design to be implemented in Term 3. The winner will be announced next term. Thank you for your excellent response to a very unusual term, we look forward to seeing all of the children for Term 3 on Tuesday 20 July. P&C Fundraiser A Working Bee is being organized for Monday 6 July in the holidays to lay pavers, to tidy up the bottom area of the school and the area around the vegetable garden as well as spread woodchips. Please see Tim and Greg if you are able to help out on Monday. Wood Raffle will be drawn on Friday 3 July (at the Athletics Carnival). Thank you everyone. Congratulations to the following families who provided extra super support for the fundraiser – Big W vouchers ($50) will be presented to Lacey and Brianna’s families. We will draw a name out tomorrow from the ticket book covers for the other prize ($50 voucher). The proceeds so far are about $800. Greg and Tim will organise delivery of the wood for the winner announced tomorrow. Your support for the children at Candelo PS is appreciated. We are keeping the Shipton family in our thoughts at this time. Families have been informed of the ‘Take Them a Meal’ option. (Please contact the school) Uniforms Long sleeve gold polo shirts for Winter are available from the Office. School t-shirts and school sport shirts - $25.00 per shirt, are available from the office. Please see Megan to organise payment to the P&C account. Canteen Orders for the lunch pack were due today. Music Tuition CIP music tuition with Susan and Henry will begin again next term. They will be in contact with families to organise the fee schedule and hire of instruments. Library books have been taken home for the holidays. Please support your child to read the books and to return them promptly next term. Premiers Reading Challenge Students record their books using the PRC app in the Student Portal. Each child has a goal to read 20 books by the end of August. One book from the PRC list per week! Every child can achieve that! Poetry writing to engage parents in student learning as well as work towards our goal to develop vocabulary and creativity. The Hilarie Lindsay Poetry is due early next term for our school entries.

Sport School Athletics qualifying trials in field events will be held Friday 3 July for students who are aged 8 years and over. Track events for all students K-6 will follow from 12.30pm. Small Schools Athletics Carnival Term 3, week, 5 Friday 21 August. Wyndham PS will organise the carnival at Wyndham PS ovals. A bus will be organised to transport students K-6 to Wyndham, however some parents may wish to transport their child(ren) to meet us at Wyndham oval. Waste Education (BVSCWE) with the Trash Smashers presentation to the children was outstanding. Congratulations to Ivy Q and Alice whose design was selected for the Trash Smashers Tshirt. Please note School Banking will resume in Term 3. The Bank will address the tokens that children will have earned during this period and the contribution payments to the school. School Parliament Pyjama Day raised $300 for Ronald McDonald House. Thank you to Year 6 leaders and staff for your support to organise the activities and for the most delicious morning tea. Parents please note that the children will be given a pack of hand wipes to keep in their bags to assist with hygiene actions.
