had the same pro blems with a sticky shutter of a Canon S2

IS. I tried the mentioned fix o nly 4 times and now the

camera is working again. Thx v ery much for help.

got the camera back, I decided to try the fix and it worked

Hi,I hav e a Samsung S600 digimax camera, the shutter is

always wide open and the picture taken is ov er ex posed. I

try y our method but seems not able to close the shutter.

The longest setting I could set to interrupt is 8s only not

15 s for cannon.

Here's a Powershot A61 0, that is renowned for its shutter

problem.

I did steps 1 to 5 abo ut thirty times without success. Then I

slammed it on a wooden table at both sides, bottom and

back; with the came ra on, off and during 1 5" ex posure,

until my girlfriend scolded at me to be quiet.

I then hit it as hard against my knee as I co uld take without

say ing "auch", again from all sides, and multiple t imes.

No success whatsoever.

Canon sucks. I had discussions both with Canon nd their

official, independent repair centre, without any succ ess.

They refuse to take responsibility for this produc tion flaw.

GREAT METHOD, THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I hav e a Canon Powershot S5 I S, and while in Oxford, my

shutter got stuck. Combining the battery -compartment-

opening method with gentle taps on the lens, I was able to

shake the shutter loose.

My adv ice is for people to be persistant, don't give up! This

method WILL work!

Hello,

I hav e an Canon A80. I had the CCD replaced before.

At first there was stil l images but it was v ery dark. Then is

became totally black. When I brought it do wn to the

customer serv ice center, they said it's a shutter problem

because they don't see the shutter o pening and closing. I

asked to to investigate to make sure it's not a CCD issue.

After 2/3 day s, they stil l say s it's a shutter pro ble m.

I hav e tried this simple fix many many many times and it

didn't work.

So I guess my camera is dead forever. Do yo u have

anymo re other suggestion? I'm very keen to open my

camera all the way but I can't figure it out. Any pictures or

diagrams?

problem with my Cannon A62 0 and after a few tries on the

long ex posure I got it unstuck!!! Went from a b ad day to

I had an Olympus DIGITAL 800 with a stuck shutter. I

tried cutting the power when taking a picture but that

didn't seem to help to o muc h. I tried a b unch of things but

it finally came unstuck when I turned the flash off, set the

shutter speed at abo ut .5", set it to highspeed picture

taking, held the button in so it was constantly taking

pictures (try ing to activate the shutter) and tapped it on its

end(the one where the battery access is) with my hand.

Hope this helps.

I've been having problems with my Canon EOS digital

rebel. Shutter gets stuck after one shot. The blades don't

quite fall back into place. Have tried all of the battery

pulling fixes, tried this one, and it still didn't work. I've

taken close to 20 000 shots with it, so I have a feeling it's a

mechanical problem.

Any other ideas?

the camera is 10 0% and low and behold I hav e this black

screen issue. Its the Cannon S2IS. I hav e tried opening the

battery compartment (20 + times) and tapping it but no

av ail. Which side is it best to tap it on? and should the

camera be on o r off?

I had the same problem with the sticky shutter on the

Canon S2 IS. I tried the fix and it worked after 3 tries.

the fix and it started showing faint signs around the 6th try

and worked at the 7 th try..U just saved me a boatload of
