The Center of mass is really down, with this, we assure an upright position always.

MANUFACTURING CANSAT

Once we have the CAD Design we used a CNC

machine to made our final design.

ELECTRICAL

The electrical part is simple. It has a Temperature Sensor, Pressure Sensor, Control system, transmitting system and releasing mechanism.

Situation -The CanSat didn't slip out of the rocket -The parachute was bad placed -The CanSat have some bright stickers, that were damaged after the launch. -The rocket have a problem and the CanSat got stocked. -Bad Luck!! -The parachute was released from the CanSat. - We received congruent Data.

Solution.

- We were able to launch again.- We learned to fold the parachute. - We remove the stickers- We changed some sensors that could have been damaged.

Situation

The parachute was placed differently and we got a really good flight, the CanSat fell smoothly. It travel a lot. The data reception was again congruent. The only problem was that the engine that release the parachute was broken. So the parachute lines were entangled and our parachute landed in a slightly tipped position.

Failure Analysis

First we thought the engine broke because of the launching vibrations. After making an analysis we found that one of the parachute lines was cut and we assume that the engine was obstructed with the line and due the force at the parachute opening the engine was removed.

Problem

-Malfunctioning Ground Station software. (The program Crashed)-Unable to find the error.

Solution -Change OS. -HyperTerminal for Windows XP-Save the Information -Made the Translation manually.

Planned CONOPS Actual CONOPS

- The whole trajectory was going

to be plotted live.

- Our Ground Station was only useful to

check if the CanSat was transmitting and it storage the

data.

-The reception was going to be stored

and organized automatically.

-All our data arrived codified and separately.

-The Data Analysis was really easy to

do. In an afternoon.

-The Data Analysis is going to take a while and we will need our software

engineer.

After the set button is activated the cansat begins to transmit the pressure data.

The collection and organization of the data is made by our software. Without the software we only have words of bits arriving to our serial port.

We know that the data structure has an order, we have bits used to control the communication, and thanks to that it’s possible to use the Hyperterminal from windows to capture the data. This solution came out from the need of store information. As long as we know the Hyperterminal allows the communication via serial port and shows the words of bits into the serial port.

Its supposed to be ascii, but there are some symbols that not appear in the ascii tables. We are going to check the information with our Software expert once we return to Mexico. Our only certainty is the apparition on the same patron every time the cansat is transmitting.
