Statistical Coordination Group for the Agenda 2030 in LAC

• Preparation of an inventory of national capacities for producing the indicators proposed in the SDG

• Preparation of an inventory of specialized human resources in the region and of training activities for improving the technical capacities of national statistical systems to produce the indicators proposed in the SDG (in coordination with the Knowledge Transfer Network)

• Design of training programmes and regional cooperation strategies

• Support for the preparation of a framework of indicators for regional follow-up to the Goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development



Inventory of national capacities to produce SDG indicators

• 26 countries have completed the questionnaire

• Regional diagnosis presented to the Forum of the LAC countrieson Sustainable Development, Mexico City, April 2017

• Online platform to access and process the information available for all the responding countries and to the statistical instances of UN-Agencies and the international organizations in LAC to define capacity building strategies

• Up-dated version to be presented to the 2nd meeting of the Forum of the LAC countrieson Sustainable Development, Santiago, April 2018
