LIFT ASSIST
WHY
4 CCC410 Nathan Terrill
The purpose of Lift Assist is to promote exercise and working out to people who are hesitant about it for any number of reasons. We believe that exercise should be an important part of everyone’s life in order to be both physically and mentally healthy, and that it can actually be something to look forward to. We work to show this to customers and to give them the tools they need to start training. This includes education of gym equipment, training routines,
time can be a very overwhelming experience which deters a lot of people from working out. When customers feel insecure about themselves and therefore anxious about entering a gym setting or if they are unsure about what they should be doing as far as exercise, we are here to help.
I walked into a gym and how overwhelmed I felt. I was a senior in high school
me and could somehow tell I had no idea what I was doing. Feeling this way and comparing myself to all of the big guys that I could tell had been working out for years was a horrible feeling. Now that I have experience working out and feel very comfortable in a gym, I see other guys that remind me of myself when I
start an organization like Lift Assist. I know I would have liked to have the help
from it as well.
Target audience
5
The audience for Lift Assist may includes a fairly wide range of people, but the main target is young men ages 15-35. This is the target audience because Lift Assist is going to focus on helping younger males who want to work towards
of exercise over the weight loss, and men of this age are typically interested in building muscle over loosing weight. Naturally, this is going to exclude many older people, especially females simply because weight training is not as popular among that group. We at Lift Assist believe that everybody should exercise and we want to help them work towards their goals. Lift Assist is the right choice for anybody new to exercise, especially people who want to build
because younger men are less likely to have attended a gym before, and more likely to feel lost in a gym setting.

About the Logo
The Lift Assist logo includes both a mark and type. The idea behind the mark is to depict a 45 pound plate which is a very common weight used in all gyms. It is often the largest plate commonly used for exercises like bench pressing, squats and shrugs. The 45 pound plate is used as the mark because it represents the gym and weight training very well. It also represents something to work towards for those who are new to weight training because most do not start out using 45 pound plates in their routines.
The Typeface used in the Logo is a slightly altered form of Chivo Black. This is a very strong and clean typeface that works well with the mark. It is used also as a park of the mark for the number 45. The cross used in the mark represents idea of aid that Lift Assist offers to its customers.

ALTERNATIVE LOGOS

Color choice
Lift Assist uses a tint of PANTONE 1797C and a grey as the two main colors. Red and grey were chosen because together they give a feeling of strength which represents the brand and mark. A tint of red is used along with the grey to connect them and decrease the contrast, this is also more interesting and unusual than the combination of red and black. To continue with the aesthetic theme of tints, and to offer another color choice PANTONE 605C may be used in other areas.

I started working out on a regular basis about three years ago. Since then it has become a very important part of my life. I go to the gym six days a week for about an hour and a half each day. A lot of people think this is crazy, like it is something I force myself to do each day. This is because most people would have to force themselves to spend that much of there time working out. I, on the other hand, have made exercise something I not only don’t mind doing, but actually something I look forward to everyday. I look forward to going to the gym because of how it makes me feel both physically and mentally. I believe that
weights is a great way to relieve the stress of a long day and get your mind off daily troubles because it gives you something else to focus on. Seeing physical results in the mirror is an amazing feeling that positively changes your overall attitude and can affect other or all aspects of life. Physical exercise helps you sleep better at night and how you feel all day, even after the gym. Spending a small part of your day in the gym really can have a huge impact on your entire life, more than most people realize. This is why it is so important for everyone. After working out for three years I cannot imagine stopping, and I do not think I ever will as long as I am physically able.
15
WHY?
actually wanting to do something about how you look and feel. I want to show
not all about how you look on the beach. Without realizing why you should go to the gym, there is no reason for Lift Assist to exist.

What keeps people out of the gym?
For many people, insecurity and intimidation are two of the biggest reasons to stay out of the gym. Even if someone has the desire to attend a gym and start getting into shape, they might decide not to for these reasons. Entering a gym
gyms are full of people who have been working out for most of their lives, ten or twenty years or even more. There are usually people who take their workouts very seriously and know exactly what they’re doing in a gym because of their experience. Getting over the hurtle of feeling this way when going to a gym for
is that everyone they see in a gym had to start somewhere, and the fact that they are being proactive and getting themselves into the gym, means something and nobody is there to make fun of anyone else. One of the goals of Lift Assist is to help people get over these hurtles of working out in a gym setting for the
We believe that insecurities and intimidation should never get in the way of exercise because it is far too important.
17
Gym knowledge
Entering a gym without a workout plan or knowledge of what you should be doing there is usually a bad idea and another reason why people do not go to the gym. This can add to insecurity and can make people feel lost in a gym setting. Because many gyms have hundreds of machines and multiple weight racks with all sorts of different weights that all have different uses, there is a lot to learn. Without prior knowledge of what all these weights and machines are used for, there is no way to have a good effective workout and not feel lost. A main goal of Lift Assist is to educate people about the different machines and weights found in gyms and what they are used for.

Motivation
Another goal of Lift Assist is to help motivate people to workout. Before people make going to the gym a regular part of their lives, motivation is often needed to help them start a routine. The hardest part of working out is sometimes
because we feel that exercise is so important, nobody should miss out for a lack of motivation. There are a few different ways in which to actually motivate someone to workout. One way we do this is by sharing stories and progress of our customers. When you see another person actually doing it and seeing results from their hard work, it makes you want the same for yourself. Another
the motivation they will ever need.

Home Gyms
In today’s world there are so many different options when it comes to working out. There are television ads all day trying to sell different types of home gyms, claiming their products can give you a ripped body in only 30 minutes twice a week, in the comfort of your own home. This sounds great, especially for people who are unsure or nervous about going to a real gym. The fact is if you really want to see real results from working out, you need to attend an actual gym that offers all the equipment you need to build muscle. The people
most likely never used those products before. They all go to actual gyms and work hard, much more than 30 minutes twice a week. Another problem with
use as a clothes hanger than what it was made for. Your home is not the right
make a commitment to go to the gym regularly, which is not the case when you workout at home. Going to a gym forces you to actually stay there and get a good full workout. Buying home gyms because you get to workout in the

Brochure
I decided to create a brochure for Lift Assist, mainly to attract people to the website. It could be placed in gyms for people who have already started working out, and in and around schools to attract younger men to start working out. The design of the brochure is very unique in that it unfolds into a circle. This hopefully will stand out amongst other brochures and make Lift Assist a name to be remembered. On the inside, there is a 4-day workout routine over the Lift Assist logo, which gives the reader a taste of what Lift
name of the Lift Assist website.
