Know YourselfUtilize bacc core classes
outside your major – take things because they are interesting to you, not
because they sound easy.
Utilize AdvisorsWhen in doubt, visit your
advisor. They help hundreds of students
every year figure out what they’re doing to do next.
Get InvolvedWork or volunteer in a
field you’re majoring in or do something to gain
transferrable skills such as leadership.
ResumeThe most important
document you can ever create is a well developed resume. Many resources on campus can help you.
ExploreTraveling abroad is a great way to widen your horizon and is an opportunity that
is easily possible during your college experience.
Campus LifeThere are unlimited clubs and possibilities here on campus. OSU even has a club that build concrete
canoes! Check them out!
Not sure what you want to do?
DON’T PANIC
Take some classes in a few different majors – who knows, you might bump into something you love.
Meet with a Career Counselor.
Use your social circles! Job Shadow friends, your parents’ friends, or your friends’ parents!
GAINING EXPERIENCE
Volunteering – do something you enjoy or find something within your desired field.
Work a part time job – do research for a professor in your major.
Do something that develops transferrable skills – leadership, communication, etc.
There are many paid and unpaid internships out there. Apply early; apply often.
