Car Sharin in Rome

Carsharing in Rome started in March 2005 with 5

parking areas in one of the borough of the city center

From June 2007 the service was extended to 3 other

In October 2009 Car Sharin was im lemented further,

adding parking areas and cars within the boroughsalready served

Within 2013 the service will be

ex anded to all the 19 borou hs of

the Municipality of Rome, reaching anumber of cars three times the

present

In order to speed up the customers registration process, a new

account and to find all the informations needed to learn to use the

service.

For all the customers its possible to pay the service with credit

card, to edit and verify their own data and to read and download all

e nvo ces ue or e use o e serv ce

In order to integrate the Car Sharingsystem with the PT services, theregional PT card has been enabled onthe CS s stem itself

Starting from the end of 2009, newCar Sharin customers have been

supplied with the PT card to accessthe CS system

Thus, each CS customer can access

the PT services simply loading a valid

can have their card enabled to the CSservice

Thanks to an agreement signed by the municipality of Rome with

recharging stations will be made available in the central areas of

the city, with a number of them reserved for Car Sharing vehicles

Within the frame of the same

agreement, the Car Sharing of

Mercedes-Benz Italy, along withTRS, the technological supplier of

the Italian ar haring system, the

Italian Car Sharing Consortium and

ICS the subject funded by theItalian Ministry of Environment to

promote Car Sharing in Italy - to

operative electric car sharing
