will begin the day with a campus-wide ceremony around the flag pole from 8:15-8:30. All Veterans are invited to attend this new ceremony. Lunch times will change and be staggered for more seating room. Payment for the lunch meal will be through the line on that day. Additionally, we are creating a Wall of Honor to recognize the veterans of our families. Attention all K, 1 parents! Mrs. Wursche, Willow Creek’s Reading Interventionist, will be presenting a workshop on strategies to use when working with young readers on Tuesday, October 21. Make a difference! Humble ISD invites all community members to attend the Humble ISD District Legislative Committee Kick-Off Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Atascocita High School Performing Arts Center, 13300 Will Clayton Parkway. State Rep. Dan Huberty will be the event's guest speaker. Humble ISD convenes the District Legislative Committee during school years in which the Legislature meets. The 84th Texas Legislative Session is scheduled for Jan. 13-June 1, 2015. “The District Legislative Committee will work with our Board Legislative Committee members (Heath Rushing, chair, Angela Conrad and Charles Cunningham) in preparing for what will be another critically important State Legislative Session for our children and public education,” Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo said. Everyone is welcome to participate in the Humble ISD District Legislative Committee .“Our first meeting will feature our own State Representative Dan Huberty who will help us anticipate what all this Legislative Session will include," Dr. Sconzo said. G/T Testing – Kindergarten Initial assessment of all kindergarten students for the Gifted and Talented (G/T) program will take place between October 20 and November 21. If a student qualifies to take the achievement test, a parent referral and consent form will be sent home. The second test will take place between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement of kindergarten students in the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.

G/T Referral and Testing – Grades 1-12 Any students new to Humble ISD and in grades 1-12 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program between November 10 and November 14, 2014. Parents or teachers may refer students for testing. If you would like to refer your child, please request information from our counselor, Marge Wyatt. Students in grades 1-12 are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after a referral is received. All testing will take place on our campus during a window between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015. ____________________________________________

Coach Durkan will be sponsoring a beginner friendly

tennis club once again this year.

AGES: This club is for any student in 3rd

or 5th

grade.

When: The club will meet every Friday.

Time: The club will start at 3:30. It will officially end

at 4:15. Students can stay as late as 4:30.

Equipment: Age appropriate equipment will be

provided. Students can bring personal rackets

from home, which can be stored safely in the

PE office. Each participant must wear

sneakers!
