Our journey has begun! The Phase II Redevelopment Project is well underway at 75 Charles Street, as can be witnessed by the demolition of the Red Cross and McDougall buildings. The Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Board (BDHF) and staff, are excited to be a part of this landmark project.

The BDHF fundraising effort for this project is historic with a committed community share of $20 Million, the largest in our history. We are pleased to announce our

campaign “Under One Roof…Communities for Care” and are honored to have Co-Chairs David Beatty and Mary Jean McFall at the helm of this capital fundraising campaign. David and Mary Jean have recruited a core team of dedicated community members who will help shape the campaign and ensure that the goal of the community share is reached.

While our goal is daunting, we are well on our way with a $10 million commitment by the Foundation, and by the tremendous support of the City of Brockville with a $4.76 million commitment. But there is much more work to be done. In the months ahead we will need the support of our communities and our donors more than ever. Not only to achieve our goal but to continue to support the on-going programs and equipment needs of the Brockville General Hospital. As in the past, the Foundation is continuously amazed at the generosity demonstrated by the Brockville and area communities. We can’t do it without you!

One site to serve all health care needs• The amalgamation of services to a single campus will see

the transfer of services from Garden Street site (including Palliative Care, Restorative Care, Rehabilitation Services and Complex Continuing Care) onto the Charles Street site.

• Focuses investment on the aging population.• The new wing will be 5 (five) floors with approxi-

mately 175,000 square feet of new construction and 20,000 square feet of renovated space, doubling the size of the Charles Street Site.

• 80% of patient rooms will be single-bed private rooms including private 3-piece washrooms.

• The new build has the latest hospital design and environmentally friendly building components.

Making an Economic Impact• In addition to essential health care

services, hospitals provide jobs and income.

• BGH is currently Leeds Grenville’s second largest employer.

• Hospitals are an important factor in a community’s ability to attract new residents, businesses and investments.

• A one campus hospital will reduce the overhead of a second location.

Providing Modern Medical CareThis Redevelopment Project will provide healthcare workers with up-to-date facilities needed to provide modern medical care.
